Gamers have been contacting my office about being locked out of their accounts and the genuine anxiety this has caused, so I took it to the eSafety Commissioner in Estimates. eSafety agrees it’s not fair and will keep my office updated as they push Steam for better options.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Steam does not lock users out of their accounts. It restricts only R18+ store pages and new mature purchases behind credit card verification for Australian users; libraries, existing games and other features remain accessible.

What a great weekend to get back to my Call of Duty roots, where it all started for me 15+ years ago.
Seeing 20 teams come out of the woodwork and register is a credit to the ANZ COD community. Special thanks to @nicolevauxite for helping spread the word and going above and beyond.
and to my day1s such as @Fighta71 @Crimzaah_ @Jahovuk9 @lmagineT1 @Deliriumm00 + so many others who know who they are. THANK YOU.
The support everyone has shown means more than a big prize pool ever could. It’s the fuel that gives our team the energy to evolve into the next phase.
League of Legends is next, we’re VERY fortunate to have @S7YLED, @SpaceDoggyOCE as leaders who really are passionate enough to see the vision.
If you’d like to support EZmode, the ask is sign up, give us a crack and share our site where possible. A little trust in what we’re building as we work to move beyond the same old machine approach to esports in our region.

Every time we’d go to a movie rental store when I was a kid I’d get this movie. Really was the start of my love for zombie movies/games etc
Obviously have no information, but when will people be held accountable for spreading false accusations? If they indeed are false

Are we going to get secure servers again for Singapore as a constant so I’m not lagging my dick off? Or bring back OCE ranked servers?
New ranks. Legend Bans. Pro-Am League.
Ranked is getting a massive tune-up across Seasons 31 and 32.

So, are @Steam @Steam_Support going to give Australians a different way to verify their age or are people without credit cards still doomed?
