We proudly presented two "Saved by the Helmet" awards:
Christopher Merz was hit in an illegal turn, hospitalized 6 days w/ no head injuries. Yash Patel was trapped under an SUV after an illegal U-turn, he suffered serious injuries. Both thank their helmets for saving their lives.
Logan Okasinski was recently recognized w/ a Saved by the Helmet award at Ride 4 Recovery. In June, Logan was struck by a SUV, thrown off his motorcycle, & run over by a fellow rider. He spent a month recovering from his injuries & re-learning how to walk.
Richard Shreve was recently recognized w/ a Saved by the Helmet award at the Thunder on the Strip Bike Rally. In 2025, an SUV turned left into his path on SR 307. Shreve was seriously injured w/ multiple broken bones, but no head injuries thanks to his helmet.

Keenen’s story is a reminder of how quickly life can change. His family shares a powerful message for every motorcycle rider and every driver: get trained, keep your distance, slow down, and always wear your helmet.
