The new season of Sold a Story is coming tomorrow. I've seen speculation about it. I think there will be some surprises. I'm interested to know what you think. First two episodes tomorrow. Then one a week on Thursdays until Nov 19. features.apmreports.org/sold…

Dolly Parton gave us a lot more than great music. She had a way of saying something honest in a few words and making it stick. These five Dolly Parton quotes feel especially relevant for educators and the work we do with students every day. Students spend years figuring out who they are. School should give them room to do that without making belonging depend on becoming someone else. Learning means risking a wrong answer sometimes. How educators respond to mistakes can make students more willing to try again or more determined not to take the chance. Consistency matters in schools. So does knowing when a routine, practice, or policy has stopped working for students and needs to change. Some school days are hard. A lesson misses. Student behavior escalates. A conversation goes badly. There may still be something in that day worth noticing before you walk back into the classroom tomorrow. Educator burnout doesn’t always come from one big thing. Sometimes the job simply keeps taking whatever time you keep giving it. Your students can matter deeply to you without school getting every part of your life. One of these probably hit closer to home than the others. Keep that one. Send another to an educator who could use Dolly’s words today.
