Today, I visited a school that I’ve been supporting. Prior to September they relied on cold call & mini whiteboards. In September they launched ‘I say you say’ and ‘choral response’. So much joy & energy in every classroom. I’ve also found unexpected benefits of these strategies:

Headteachers have to make decisions. Yes listening is absolutely important but when it comes to it they have to make the final call & they are accountable for what’s decided. Decision making can’t always involve consultation - nothing would ever get done.
