youtube.com/watch?v=XyDYkGzG… Excellent video on the importance of historians and studying history and the dangers of repeating historical myths.
Interesting article reckoning with the phenomenon of marginalized people playing historical bad guys in games.

What an awful opinion to have of the region. I've often joked that this would be the fate of Niagara one day but I don't think we should be accelerating it or just rolling over and giving into it with no consideration of local representation.

A great example that all those people pearl clutching over the removal of J. A. Macdonald statues were not at all representative of what Canadians actually think of his legacy and was just culture war whining.
Who do Canadians think was their greatest prime minister? Pierre Trudeau is the nostalgic choice of Liberals. Stephen Harper is the modern choice of Conservatives. And a lot don't know. Full breakdown: thewrit.ca/p/best-pm-poll

Ever wondered why people used STOP instead of a period in telegrams? I have too! I'm a telegraph historian and I'm going to review the most common answers to this question I've found online and explain why they don't make sense. 🧵 @HistAndTech @SocHistTech #twitterstorians
It's likely a form of telegraphese that spread through pop culture and ignorance about the telegraph after wider use in the 1920s and 30s and not from the telegraph industry.
If any #twitterstorians knows anything about the use of the word STOP in telegrams and has any source I'd be interested to see it.
