"If it doesn't work, the sixth manager will come in and it will be the same... then the seventh and it'll be the same." Fair to say Glasner is fuming.

I’ve never had so much confidence in a Forest team since promotion, genuinely. Some of the stuff we play is fantastic. Cut out the amateur finishing and we will be more than fine. I was sceptical of Glasner, but he literally can’t do anymore than what he’s doing. #NFFC

What connects a topless supermodel on the cover of Playboy, a casino card game sold for $25 million, £1.3m in Labour donations, a Westminster think tank full of anti gamblers and a Prime Minister's crackdown on local bookies? 🤔 It's a strange tale... and somehow not one Rob Davies ever gets round to writing 🃏📰

Can only assume any Glasner out ‘fans’ only started tuning into Forest in 2024/25. There’s no way you survived through Yeovil, Sheff Utd, Stoke, etc. - if your head is gone now, you wouldn’t have made it through the actual tough times. Just outing yourself as a plastic #nffc

No £80 replica shirts. No phones filming every second. No marketing telling you how special it all was. Nobody flying in from Singapore after paying £700 for a ticket. Just lads getting there hours early and queuing forever at the turnstiles. Cold hands, muddy terraces, and all that mattered was bagging your spot on the wall. Football when it was simple. 👏🏻👏🏻

When George Best arrived at Bournemouth in the 1982-83 season, he was no longer the young superstar who had terrorised defenders for Manchester United. Bournemouth were his last English club and Best was paid largely on appearances. Harry Redknapp remembered that his teammates loved having him around. One day, George appeared with a question. “Harry, where’s Salisbury from here?” Harry told him it was about half an hour away. “There’s racing on, do you fancy it?” Redknapp was always interested in the horses, so they decided to go. Best had no car, which meant Harry was driving, and before they set off George asked if they could drop his girlfriend Mary Stävin at the station on the way. Mary was a former Miss World. Redknapp remembered her as “beautiful, friendly and charming.” She got into the car looking like a film star, they drove her to the station and watched her leave. The moment she was gone, George turned to Harry. “Thank God she’s gone.” “Why, what’s the matter?” George explained the problem. “We went to the pictures last night.” “She drove me mad all the way through it.” “Touching me and kissing me.” Harry could not stop laughing. “Really, George?” “Sounds awful.” There would have been no shortage of men willing to swap places with him, but Best was completely serious. “You don’t understand, Harry.” “I was trying to watch the film.” They carried on to Salisbury. It was a popular meeting that day and plenty of football people were there. Mick Channon, Alan Ball and some of the old Southampton crowd were enjoying themselves in the champagne bar. Best wanted none of it. He and Redknapp sat away from everybody else with a cup of tea. For a man with George Best’s image, Harry always found that side of him surprising. He did not enjoy being the centre of attention nearly as much as people imagined. When the racing finished, they started the drive home. The road out of Salisbury included a long country lane of around three miles, and as Harry drove along it they passed two men walking at the side of the road. They looked miserable. George noticed them immediately. “Pull over.” Harry stopped the car. “Look at them.” “That could be you and me, Harry, couldn’t it?” “We should give them a lift.” George wound down the window. “You all right, lads?” “Come on, get in.” The two men climbed into the back of the car, looked across and realised the man offering them a lift was George Best. Both were football supporters. And both had been at the races and lost all their money. By chance, they even lived in Bournemouth, so Harry and George took them all the way home. Best talked to them throughout the journey. The two men could barely believe what was happening and listened to every word. Eventually they reached home, the pair got out and George sat watching them walk away. “There but for the grace of God, eh Harry?” #football

🚨🎙️ Gary Neville on UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s comments about Manchester City: “I find those comments absolutely staggering. At a time when Manchester City have just been found guilty of serious financial rule breaches, the Prime Minister is talking about how concerned he would be if their owners left. What message does that send? Are we now at the stage where money, investment and tax revenue matter more than the integrity of football? Because if that is the message coming from the top, then we have a serious problem. You cannot have one set of rules for the smaller clubs and another set of rules for the biggest and wealthiest clubs. If the rules have been broken, they must be dealt with properly. It doesn't matter how much money the owners have brought into Manchester. And let me be very clear — nobody should be influencing the independent process. The courts, regulators and football authorities must be allowed to do their jobs without political pressure. If Manchester City escape meaningful punishment simply because they are economically important, then forget sporting integrity. Every club in England will ask themselves why they should respect the rules. The Premier League cannot become a competition where the bigger your bank account, the safer you are from consequences. That would destroy the credibility of English football. I think the Prime Minister needs to clarify those comments, because right now they sound like he is more worried about losing Manchester City’s owners than protecting the integrity of the Premier League.”

🚨 Thierry Henry on Rui Pinto accusing FIFA president Gianni Infantino of corruption in Manchester City’s 115 charges and PSG: 🗣️ Thierry Henry: “We have to look at the broader picture here. The football world has never been the same since Infantino became president. “There has been a virus eating deep into football, and that virus is the belief that oil money and financial power are valued more than hard work, talent and sporting merit. “I’ll tell you how. Look back at the 2022 World Cup. Before the final was even played, the football world already seemed to be preparing the story of Messi as the greatest of all time. There was already a golden rope prepared for him with ‘GOAT’ written on it. “How did they know Argentina would win the World Cup and produce a rope for Messi if the result had not happened yet? These are the questions people are allowed to ask. “Fast-forward to the 2026 World Cup, and we are now seeing FIFA surrounded by even more questions about money, private investors and relationships with countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the same regions heavily involved in the modern football economy and connected to clubs like Manchester City and PSG. “Then look at PSG. “We have seen them spend enormous amounts of money, move players in and out and rebuild their starting team almost whenever they want. Then look at Manchester City. This wasn’t simply normal football business anymore. We were talking about hundreds of millions being invested into building a football empire. “And now City have been found guilty of serious financial breaches. They are appealing, yes, but you cannot look at everything happening around football and tell people there is nothing to question. “Football used to be about talent and tactics. A great manager could take a group of players, develop them and compete with anybody. “Now it feels like the biggest investors have the biggest advantage. The richest clubs can spend amounts that other clubs simply cannot keep up with, and then everyone is told, ‘This is just modern football.’ “No. At some point, we have to ask where the line is. “And this is why I understand why Manchester United refused to sell the club to Saudi investors. Because once enormous financial and political interests enter football, you have to ask what comes with that money. “You look at Manchester City. You look at PSG. You look at FIFA. You look at the accusations surrounding Infantino. You look at the relationships between football and these enormous financial interests. “And you start to understand why people are questioning how deep this goes. “I’m not saying every accusation is automatically proven. But when there are this many questions surrounding the people controlling the biggest institutions in football, you cannot simply tell everyone to be quiet. “Whatever punishment Manchester City eventually receives, football cannot continue pretending that everything is fine. “We cannot allow money to become more important than sporting integrity. “And we cannot have a FIFA president surrounded by this many questions about power, money and influence and simply expect supporters to trust the system. “For me, this is bigger than Manchester City. “It is bigger than PSG. “It is bigger than one World Cup. “This is about the direction football is going. “Infantino has to answer these questions. And if the football world no longer trusts the direction he is taking the sport, then he has to step down or be voted out. “Because right now, it feels like there is a worm eating deep into this beautiful game. “And the earlier we cut it out, the earlier we can start getting our football back.”

Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks. Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.
