I organised the (100+) videos in this 'Hamlet' playlist to match how/where I might use them in an Leaving Cert English class. Lots here that a student could use to supplement their study or deepen their understanding/appreciation of the text. #EdChatIE

Tim Burton's 'Vincent' with First Years today! Amazing discussion on themes, etc.
It's a poem (video link below), but very narrative, & could lead on to all types of writing exercises! #EdChatIE

Many students use AI regularly, but can they spot misinformation? PISA finds 46% have a strong scientific profile – they fact-check information and do not rely on so-called ‘common sense’.
The ever-expanding collection of Story Cubes. Always handy in a pinch, but especially useful to get a TY Creative Writing class started on original pieces last week! #EdChatIE

@IrishTimes @IrishTimesEdu_ why is there no mention in this article of the open days at the many technological universities around Ireland? They are surely worth mentioning too!?! #edchatie

Review activity after discussing 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' with Third Year English. They designed their own tags (like Miles does) to celebrate their favourite aspects of the film. We'll add to these after further discussion! #EdChatIE
More work needed on this 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse' YouTube playlist. Recommendations welcome! Added videos focusing on the craft behind the film, as well as additional revision stuff for Junior Cycle English. #EdChatIE 🎞️

Agree 100%
I would add that showing a film adaptation, as part of your study of a novel, devalues both the film and the novel.
I have a yearly conversation with classes about why I don't show the film version of the novel/play we're reading. They quickly get that films are a different artform (by a different artist) with unique strengths and limitations. I don't get how adults don't get this. #EdChatIE
