EndSARS was something else. People dug up Tinubu’s personal number and made it public. Young people organised, mobilised, sent out ambulances, arranged legal aid, raised funds, and looked out for strangers. We built our own systems, and made things work. we experienced what power looked like outside the control of the political establishment. We were young, angry, organised, and audacious. It was glorious.

APC supporters think that believing Tinubu can win makes them logical. Sad souls. They fail to understand that once you destroy the credibility of the electoral system, you create the conditions for strongmen to rise. And one day, Nigeria could become another Cameroon. The irony is that when that day comes, it might be a candidate you support who is shut out of the system. Then, suddenly, you will understand what is at stake. By then, it may be too late to do anything about it. You don’t destroy democratic institutions just because the person benefiting from their destruction is your preferred candidate. One day, the same broken system will come for you.
