Block play on a whole new scale! 🧱🙌 Reception worked together to create body outlines with wooden blocks, exploring shape, length and space. Lots of teamwork, talk and problem-solving through play! 🤎 #EYFS #LearningThroughPlay #BlockPlay

🎨 Big brushes, big movements, big creativity! 🖌️ Our outdoor artists used long-handled brushes to reach high, sweep across and make colourful marks together! 💙 These large movements support shoulder strength and stability, helping develop the control needed for writing.

🎨🏘️ Drawing Club! Inspired by Hey, Wall!, we’ve been designing wall murals celebrating what’s important in our community — the people who help us, familiar buildings and things we notice around Longsight. 💛 Our children have brought their ideas to life through drawing.

🎂 Drawing Club 🎂 This week, the children drew Mrs Griffiths a birthday cake! 🥳 We loved discussing all the different fillings and decorations we could add—chocolate, strawberries, sprinkles and lots of delicious icing! Mmmm… delicious! 😋

🎈 Our home corner has had a birthday makeover! 🎂🥳 This week, the children can plan and celebrate their own parties through imaginative play. They can prepare birthday food, set the table, sing songs, share with their friends and practise being wonderful party hosts and guests

Next week, we’re exploring birthday celebrations through our story So Much! 🎂🎈 It’s also my birthday on Monday, so I’m very excited to celebrate with the children! 🥳 #SoMuch #EYFS #BirthdayFun
