We had our first 50% ST Math Party today during lunch. They enjoyed making a penguin to add to the wall and eating lunch with the teacher. I can’t wait for the next one! @rennellredhawks #WeAreRennell @STMath We even watched a video of Jiji cheering us on!

One of the most pointless behaviour tips you can give: 'build a relationship with your class.' Not because it's not true, but because it tells a trainee nothing about what to *do*. Often they vanish down a rabbit hole of trying to amuse or please the class. Chaos ensues

“If I could give you one thought, it would be to lift someone up. Lift a stranger up - lift her up. I would ask you, mother and father, brother and sister, lovers, mother and daughter, father and son, lift someone. The very idea of lifting someone up will lift you, as well.”

We love equipping teachers with tools they can immediately implement into their classroom!
I learned so much at @IMSEOG ‘s comprehensive OG plus training, with focus on word recognition and spelling deficits. I can’t wait to bring these multi-sensory strategies back to the classroom!

Replying to @ehanford
The 1st question I was asked on my 1st job interview was “How do you teach a child to read?” It was like getting struck by lightning and affected everything I did after that—searching for the answer. That should be the 1st question in all teacher job interviews from now on.
