Your Arcelor Mittal MVP is senior Kamryn Cocherl of the Pleasant Lady Spartans, who are district champs again after a 3-0 sweep of Utica in the D5 District Final at Ohio Dominican Univ. The Lady Spartans remain perfect and have not lost a set this year. It's the 4th consecutive district title for Pleasant. Kamryn was nearly perfect in the win over Utica. When the Lady Redskins battled in the second set, a 25-18 finish, Kamryn reset her teammates from the back row. "I'm the last option in the back row, and usually I do a good job at resetting people and just building that momentum back up," she said. Pleasant moves on to a regional semifinal at Ontario against Centerburg. Congratulations to Kamryn and the Lady Spartans! Our Arcelor Mittal MVP is Pleasant senior setter Macy Hamper, as the #1 Lady Spartans sweep #13 Grandview Heights 3-0 in the D5 District Semifinal at Pleasant H.S. Pleasant remains perfect on the year and advances to its fourth consecutive district final. Macy joined us after the win to talk about the week of work that went into it. She said the team found weaknesses in a big scrimmage on Saturday and focused on those spots. On the fourth straight district final, Macy said "It feels really good, especially I get to do it with all my best friends." The Lady Spartans play Thursday at Ohio Dominican, with Utica or Northridge still to be decided as their opponent. Congratulations to Macy and the Lady Spartans!
