Beautiful art work completed by year 4! This perfectly illustrates the process of art that we teach at Simonside. The children research, experiment and create. This ensures that their pieces are both individual and draws on influences from artists. @simonsideschool

As part of International Week and No Outsiders Week, Year 1/2 learnt all about reggae music and learnt some more Makaton signs. We loved performing ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ originally by Bobby McFerrin (covered by Bob Marley🇯🇲). Truly fabulous!🤍✨🎶🌍 @simonsideschool @Mrs_Souter

🇬🇧👑🎶A slightly different lunchtime @simonsideschool today. Our KS2 yard was filled with a sea of happy families enjoying their outdoor picnic as part of our Jubilee Celebrations. What an amazing way to kick start our afternoon performances.🎶👑🇬🇧 @MrsLoweSside @MrsWrig95111160

For our last day of Aspirations week we thought about what we would like to do when we grow up ⭐️⭐️ I think our zoom guests have inspired us to reach for those stars, to aim high, to work hard & to not give up ⭐️⭐️ @simonsideschool @Mrs_Mason_1 @MrsMason_74 @Mrs_Souter

🎵 🎶 In music this afternoon we have been thinking about Syncopation and what better way to learn about it, than learn how to do the Cup Song 🎶 🎵@Mrs_Souter @MrsMason_74 @Mrs_Mason_1 @simonsideschool

🖼🪟This afternoon for Art, we drew a view from a window🪟🖼 ✏️ We only used a grey pencil so had to think about how to shade different parts of our drawing ✏️It was relaxing and very enjoyable ✏️ @MrsLoweSside @MrsMason_74 @Mrs_Mason_1 @Mrs_Souter @simonsideschool
