It is that time of year again! I am still a 7th grade English teacher in Woodbridge, VA. I am still trying to promote the love of reading for my students. If you can, please consider donating. #teacher #clearthelist2025 #teacherlife ♥️ amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3R…

Remember when Kindergartners used to have partial days and still get naps—why would that not still be important? Even adults in business world take long lunches, miss an afternoon for golf or a ball game, yet we can’t let children have an extra recess or an occasional afternoon of play in school? Think of how much more they need it!

What I appreciate about @mr_Alsheimer is he address the real problem with education. Kids don’t need another reading or math textbook strategy, kids need to know they are loved and supported by their teachers! He understands the importance of kids’ internal motivation! Thank you!

How did I get good at reading comprehension? 1. From reading 2. From wanting to understand what I read. @literacy_kim @emilyfranESL @mr_Alsheimer #TEACHers #ReadingComprehension #readerscommunity #teacherlife

You were always right there with me. Definitely one of the most passionate educators out there. The kids would always talk about you and your class 💯🙌

I love teaching seventh graders. No, I don’t mean coaching teachers of 7th grade nor being an admin of seventh graders. I simply mean… I love being in the actual classroom TEACHING. I

While I understand if fluency is important to reading comprehension, I do believe there is a difference between mental reading fluency vs. read aloud in front of an audience fluency.Even as a teacher I will read something again to myself to comprehend something. Why is that bad?

The true ability to teach… are some people just born with it? Can it really be a natural raw talent for some people and not for others? What do you think? #teach @kingstonwshs @teacherbevc @literacy_kim @mr_Alsheimer @TheSchaffdawg @Ms_Keaney @SteeleThoughts @stephensonreads

Sometimes it is not WHAT you teach but HOW you teach that makes kids engaged. The best teachers can make paint drying sound exciting. @mr_Alsheimer @TheSchaffdawg @monica_seeman @SteeleThoughts #teacherlife #StudentSuccess #teaching
