White supremacy had a collaborator class then. And it has one now. There were collaborators in practically every crime waged against humanity. The African resistance class always outnumbered the collaborator class, but the collaborator class is always empowered. Then and now.
Africans fully participated in the slave trade at Elmina, Ghana. Trade records from the Dutch West India Company, Royal African Company, and Danish ledgers from Elmina, Cape Coast show African rulers and merchants negotiating prices, quantities, and terms with European factors. African brokers and rulers controlled who could trade and where. African-authored testimony, for example, Ottobah Cugoano, a Fante man enslaved around 1770, wrote that he was kidnapped by fellow Africans and sold into slavery. In fact the Asante expansion in modern-day Ghana involved conquering neighbours like Denkyira, Akyem, and Gonja. The prisoners taken in those wars- by Africans- supplied both the coastal trade and domestic labour. The fort archaeology from excavations at Elmina, Cape Coast, and inland Asante sites back all of this up. On your logic, the government of Ghana should be apologising for their involvement in slavery.

We cannot reach our destination if we do not start the journey. Barbados will meet this opening for dialogue with purpose. We will carry our history to the table, speak plainly and respectfully about our differences with the United Kingdom on reparations and pursue agreements that can improve lives. Guided by CARICOM’s Ten Point Plan, we seek an apology, investment in health and education, and fairer debt terms for vulnerable states. Our children must inherit more than the consequences of the past. They must inherit the progress we have the courage to make.

Black people have not freed their minds from colonialism. This man refused to apologize for his family's role in slavery and they perform dances of resistance for him.

Junkanoo, a practice of resistance of African enslaved people and their descendants after them, used to entertain the beneficiary of slavery and colonization is beyond insulting.

Seems a bit gross that you can be shortlisted for work that pushed a man to take his own life, but i guess this is the state of British journalism today.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026

A sacked Cambridge researcher who sparked a media frenzy over Prof Jason Arday before he was found dead 2 months ago has now been given the opportunity to hold a talk at Oxford Uni on DEI by a Reform-linked society. A protest has been planned to stop it. thecommunityreporter.co.uk/p…

Four Exonerations, One Damning White Supremacist System When racism is woven into your foundations, injustice isn’t an aberration, it’s business as usual. They put Professor Jason Arday through a media lynching, yet his name has now been cleared four times. The silence proves just how sinister msm really is. Meanwhile, systemic racism thrives through racist institutions such as Oxford University who continue to platform Nathan Cofnas. Black excellence is put on trial; racist pseudoscience is amplified because the rot is deep and institutional. No surprises from a nation built on theft and plunder.

No media coverage on Professor Jason Arday cleared AGAIN of plagiarism while the weasel faced white supremacist who instigated the witch hunt against him is being feted at Oxford University for a talk on DEI backed by racist party Reform UK. Reform Uk isn’t ’satisfied’ with another clearance of Arday so launching independent review of his appointment at Cambridge University but not Oxford University’s appointment of Dr Lola Salem who is on trial for possessing indecent images of children. She just happens to be Michael Gove’s ex girlfriend. Zero media outrage. White power should be studied.

249 Articles For Him. Where’s The Fury For Her? 15 outlets, 249 articles on Professor Jason Arday. Where’s that same ferocity for Dr Lola Salem? If scrutiny is public interest for one, why the deafening silence for her? The media hounded Professor Jason Arday over NOTHING. Yet Dr Lola Salem faces serious charges, where’s the same media frenzy? The selective outrage stinks.

The first Black woman to produce programmes for the BBC was a Jamaican poet who arrived in London in 1932 and could not find anyone who would rent her a room. She ended up running the radio programme that launched Caribbean literature. Then she had a breakdown and was put on a ship home. Una Marson. She was already an editor and playwright in Jamaica when she came to Britain. She documented the experience of looking for lodgings in a city where the signs said no coloureds, and wrote a poem about it called "Nigger" that is still hard to read. She worked for the League of Coloured Peoples, then for Haile Selassie when he was in exile in London after the Italian invasion of Ethiopia, and sat behind him at the League of Nations. In 1941 the BBC took her on. By 1942 she was producing "Calling the West Indies," which began as a programme reading servicemen's messages home and which she turned into "Caribbean Voices" β€” the programme that broadcast and paid a generation of Caribbean writers including Derek Walcott, V.S. Naipaul, Samuel Selvon and George Lamming. It is not an exaggeration to say modern Caribbean literature was partly built in that studio. She was the only Black woman in the building, in wartime, producing for an organisation that was not always sure it wanted her there, and the strain was enormous. She had a breakdown in 1945 and returned to Jamaica. She kept working β€” journalism, publishing, social work β€” and died in 1965 at fifty-nine, largely forgotten in Britain until scholars rediscovered her in the 1990s. She gave the Caribbean its literary voice from inside Broadcasting House and went home on a ship with a nervous collapse.

Denmark and Norway transported nearly 110,000 enslaved Africans to the West Indies between 1670 and 1804, as recorded in the ship logs of the slave vessel Fredensborg (below) that sailed to the Gold Coast in 1767 #slaveryarchive
