Delhi: Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India (TECC India) are presenting the 2026 Taiwan Film Festival from October 24 to 25 in New Delhi and on October 31 in Mumbai. This year marks a significant milestone for the festival as it expands beyond New Delhi, its primary venue in previous editions, to Mumbai, one of India’s major centres for film and audiovisual culture. Mumin Chen, Chief Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, says, "India is a big country. People like movies... But very, very few Indian friends know about Taiwan movies. Actually, we also have very good movies..."

Taiwanese knew Mahatma Gandhi very early. Newspapers and books from 1930s and 1940s often discussed about him, and public were aware of his philosophy and campaigns

In my opinion, Taiwan needs a “One Voice” foreign policy. From a recent discussion in Finland. 👇

During the 20th Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the host issued a announcement banning two flags. Now everyone knows the right one is the flag of today’s Taiwan. In fact, before Aug 15 1945 it was the left rising-sun flag being used on the island as Taiwan was Japanese terrotories

Students from Delhi University were particularly interested in 2 PPT slides of my lecture when I was invited to talk early this week. The numbers shows how Taiwanese identify themselves today. This is a fact. Not propoganda.

A significant milestone in Taiwan–Palau relations was marked by the recent visit of Taiwan’s Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim to Palau. During her five-day visit, she met with President Surangel Whipps Jr., government leaders, and community representatives to strengthen the longstanding friendship between the two nations. The visit focused on deepening diplomatic ties, promoting tourism, and reviewing successful cooperation projects in healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and public safety. It also highlighted the shared commitment of Taiwan and Palau to sustainable development and regional cooperation. As trusted partners for over two decades, Taiwan and Palau continue to demonstrate how strong international friendships can deliver tangible benefits for their people and contribute to peace and prosperity in the Pacific region. Vice President Hsiao described the visit as an opportunity to deepen bilateral ties, support Palau’s tourism sector, and witness the impact of ongoing Taiwan–Palau cooperation projects.
