The only genuinely elected govt in Pakistan is in KP, and the entire state apparatus is scrambling to find a way to overthrow it. The ruling elite’s contempt for the public mandate is just appalling & unbelievable. How dare some second-class citizens challenge their whims and deny living like insects. #FreeImranKhan

President Donald Trump played a historic role in advancing peace in South Asia. His timely intervention helped bring Pakistan and India back from the brink and secure a ceasefire, that is holding till today. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Pakistan had nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. We sincerely hope President’s efforts to promote peace and prevent conflict in our region receive due recognition this time. @realDonaldTrump @NobelPrize

Pakistan’s foreign policy is sucking up to Trump and renting itself in foreign wars while your own country is burning with instability. Economic policy is borrowing from everyone and praying nobody asks for the money back. Media policy is appease us, publish/tweet our narrative verbatim or else go off air. Democracy is you vote, we decide where it goes. Parliament and political parties are just tools to protect the interests of a chosen few. Cricket & other institutions are distributed among the favourite incompetent lackeys. Governance is keeping the system dysfunctional enough to manoeuvre it as needed. Judiciary is a Whatsapp copy paste department. The relationship between the state and its people has been reduced to one between rulers and subjects. You are expected to obey without questioning, accept without becoming a nuisance, and remain grateful for whatever crumbs are thrown your way. 250 million people deserve more than mere survival. They deserve dignity, representation, accountability, and a state that serves them, not one that demands their unconditional submission. #FreeImranKhan

Since the regime in Pakistan is trying super hard to twist history and frame Imran Khan as a “terrorist supporter” for its foreign audiences, let me put out the timeline for the record: 1970's-1980's: Imran Khan was breaking world records in cricket when the Pakistani security state was already neck deep in the Afghan Jihad against the Soviets. 1990's: Imran Khan was building cancer hospitals for the poorest in society when they were consolidating militants as a state sanction policy to form and enable Taliban's rise to power in Afghanistan. 2000's: Imran Khan was protesting global wars when they were busy playing divide and rule among militants, which later came to be known as the “good Taliban/bad Taliban” policy. 2018-2021: Imran Khan as a Prime Minister helped bring an end to the 20 year long Afghan War, and facilated the US exit from Afghanistan. You have to be Intellectually dishonest, and frankly ridiculous to place the burden of responsibility and blame for 50 years of state policy to play with militants on Imran Khan for his barely four years as PM, when he actually ended the not just the Afghan War, but the state policy as well. Guess what returned when he was ousted?

How will Pakistanis react to joining in military operations on the side of Israel and the United States? Another abysmal development arising from the imprisonment of Imran Khan.

Imagine being unlawfully detained and kept under solitary confinement from past 4 years without any legit case only because you stood up against the wrongs happening in your country from past 78 years. IK has paid the highest price for standing on the right side of history.

Govt knows IK won’t sign off on anything they were proposing so might aswell end the talks instead of getting further endorsement from him for the long march.

Their legal and constitutional rights must be respected. They must be given immediate access to their lawyers and our family must be allowed to see and speak with them.
13 days. For 13 days, my mother Aleema Khan (68) and aunts Dr Uzma Khan (66) and Noreen Niazi (72), have been detained without access to their family or lawyer. We have pursued every available avenue — the courts, the Home Secretary and the Deputy Commissioner. Yet we remain unable to see them, speak to them, or independently confirm their wellbeing. We are now forced to return to the Lahore High Court again for something that should never have required repeated litigation: the right to have access to family and legal counsel. @DrUzma_KhanPK @Noreen_KhanPK @Aleema_KhanPK @ImranKhanPTI

Two weeks before @SalmanView’s abduction in UAE on 27 September 2024, one of our former team members was forced by Pakistan’s Military Intelligence (MI) to contact Salman @SalmanView and convey a chilling warning: “Start working with us, otherwise you will not be safe in UAE either” Salman’s response was clear: he was no longer active on social media and was focusing on his job and career in Sharjah, UAE, where he moved months before 9th May. Two weeks later, on 27 September 2024, Salman was taken from outside his apartment in Al Nahda, Sharjah, just three days after Junaid Jahangir @M_Junaidd was abducted from Dubai Airport while returning from Umrah. Salman had chosen to build his professional life in UAE because he believed he could live and work there “peacefully”, away from the persecution of PTI supporters by Pakistani intelligence agencies. But that sense of safety did not last!! Salman & Junaid were held at undisclosed locations for around eight months, completely beyond the reach of their families, friends, and lawyers. During this time they endured severe physical and psychological mistreatment during this period. In May 2025, both were transferred to Al Wathba Prison in Abu Dhabi, where they remain till today. For Salman’s family, these two years have been especially painful. His father is severely ill and bedridden, suffering from multiple heart and kidney problems. He has spent these years waiting to see his son again. Salman’s wife remained in UAE for 18 months, living alone and without family support to pursue her husband’s case. During those 18 months, she was allowed only eight video calls with Salman, and even for those brief calls, she had to travel to the prison. There was no physical meeting at all. Whatever political disputes exist in Pakistan, Salman and Junaid went to the UAE to work, build their careers, and live peacefully. Salman didn’t even have active social media accounts. We respectfully appeal to the UAE leadership @MohamedBinZayed @HHShkMohd @HamdanMohammed @HHMansour @HHShkDrSultan @LadyVelvet_HFQ and the relevant authorities to look into their cases with compassion and fairness. Two years have already been taken from their lives and their families. Please allow Salman and Junaid to return to the people who have been waiting for them every single day !! @UAEmediaoffice @GovernmentUAE @mofauae @moiuae @DubaiPoliceHQ @ADPoliceHQ @MOHRE_UAE @uaeembassyisb @VisitAbuDhabi @mariammalmheiri @hrw @amnesty @AmnestyAR @amnestysasia #ReleaseJunaidAndSalman #ReleaseSalmanRaza #ReleaseJunaidJahangir #TransnationalRepression

If we all show even half the courage Imran Khan and his sisters have shown, just for these next four days, we could change everything.
My mother, Aleema Khan @Aleema_KhanPK and my aunts, Dr Uzma Khan @DrUzma_KhanPK and Noreen Niazi @Noreen_KhanPK , remain behind bars. Their only crime is refusing to abandon their brother, Imran Khan @ImranKhanPTI throughout his imprisonment — a detention the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found to be arbitrary and in violation of international law, and called for his immediate release. For three years, they have stood outside prisons and courtrooms, enduring everything from scorching heat exceeding 45°C to near-freezing conditions, demanding justice and the rule of law. They have endured tear gas, chemical-laced water cannons, repeated arrests and relentless intimidation. Yet no amount of pressure could silence them or force them to step aside. They stood their ground. They refused to abandon their brother. Since their latest imprisonment, they have been denied access to their family and legal counsel. They spent three years demanding justice for their brother. Now, like him, they find themselves denied the very rights they are fighting for. Standing by their brother is not a crime. Raising their voice for him is not a crime. Demanding justice and the rule of law is not a crime. Their detention must end.
