I’ll unblock you to give you a fair chance to respond. But Mike, why skip mins 30–34 in your review? I’m happy to walk back anything I got wrong. My claims were largely accurate and directed more toward Jay. Considering we haven’t copyright-struck you, I figured that was obvious.
Since this guy decided to block me and misrepresent me, I’ll point out we did say in the review that we agreed Sinai said the Quran would be claiming to be an authority on how to interpret the previous scriptures. We’ve never denied that.
The problem is that doesn’t mean the Quran is claiming to consciously edit the scriptures, or that parts of them are corrupted. But one cannot just reinterpret the Bible to fit with the Quran. There are clear contradictions, which is why modern Muslims have to pretend parts of our scriptures are corrupted. So the Islamic Dilemma stands. @JaiNDoC_RL @SCApologia

Q&A
Barley any questions directed towards Godlogic and all the questions were almost towards Javad. The Questions were slop and nothing useful. Most of the Audience were Christians.
Alright at this point I'm convinced most Christians are functionally Marcionites. Despite viewing Maricon as an arch heretic they see the Old testament as an old law that was meant for the ancient Israelites which contains laws which they agree are abhorrent by today's standards and the New Testament abrogated it and is superior ethically.

Jesus lived 600 years earlier in a far more unrefined era, yet He never owned a single slave. What is most startling about Christ is how He entirely bypassed the cultural traps of antiquity. He easily could have engaged in the socially permissible norms of His day that age horribly now; like marrying a minor, or owning and sexually exploiting slaves. But He didn’t. He lived with absolute moral perfection in a time when the ethical bar was on the floor, and His standard remains flawless today. He is God.
Potential parallels found with Origen and the Quran on the killing of prophets and the concealment/rewriting of Passages that put Israelites in a bad light.
Origen argues the elders and Jewish leaders concealed passages such as the killing of the prophets to paint Jewish leaders in a better light so that the common people could not discredit them.
similar arguments found in Quran 2:76-91 were the Quran says Jewish leaders concealed verses so they people could not use it in argument against the Jews, then the Quran argues against the Israelites by saying and they slew the prophets.
I think in my opinion the Quran here is arguing that the Jews of Madinah concealed passages in the Hebrew Bible that portray Israelites in a bad light, and then the Quran goes on to talk about stories of Israelites that are negative such as the worship of the Golden Calf, Slaying of prophets, etc, for polemical purposes.

I cannot stop thinking about this really intriguing point that @SCApologia brought up in our discussion, which I wish we had had more time to explore. Having done a bit of research since, there appears to be a real dearth of work on this in Qur’anic Studies.
However, it does appear that the Qur’an’s favouring of the Septuagint reading was most likely due to the intermediary of Syriac in its linguistic environment, as the below study explores in relation to Isaiah 8:16:

Double edged sword here. The Quran has many parallels with the clementine homilies which, most scholars say is anti Pauline. The Quran also says the Gospel was given to Jesus with no mention of Paul. But at the same time the Quran is pro Pauline in many aspects such as natural law. Also most Christians hold Paul to a very special place, so I don't think insulting Paul or saying Paul "corrupted" Christianity is going to lead to any constructive dialogue. Also I'm unsure whether the modern gentile interpretation of Paul is the correct one, See Paul within Judaism and Adamic/Angelic/Binitarian Christology.
I still think Delman is spot on here though.
@NeumanNazirite @salsabilhistory thoughts on this? you guys are the only pro-Pauline Muslims I know on twitter.

One of the Quran's essential elements of morality is it's disdain towards religious exclusivism. The Quran in many places Consciously Edits and removes religious exclusivism from the prior scriptures as it views it as a corruption the Israelites invented so it would appear that God favored them. The Quran denies any such claims.
Here is a very simple example with Moses and Pharaoh discussing lord of all worlds vs god of the Hebrews.
