HAPPY MASHUJAA DAY, KENYA!!...🇰🇪
I take this opportunity to wish all Kenyans a happy and memorable Mashujaa Day on 20th October 2026.
This year's national celebration is especially significant as it brings together three host counties for the first time; Uasin Gishu, Nandi, and Elgeyo-Marakwet.
The historic event will be held at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County.
It is a moment of great pride for the people of Eldoret as they welcome the nation for the 63rd Mashujaa Day celebration, commemorating the courage, sacrifice and selfless service of the heroes and heroines who contributed to Kenya's independence and continue to inspire our nation's progress.
As we celebrate our heroes and heroines, may we renew our commitment to unity, patriotism, peace and the continued development of our beloved country.
Happy Mashujaa Day to all Kenyans!!...🇰🇪
Hongera Kenya, Mungu Ibariki Kenya...🙏

Earlier today, I had the opportunity to attend the presidential assent to the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill, 2026, by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, at Eldoret State Lodge, Uasin Gishu County.
The law increases additional allocations to county governments from KSh 70.67 billion in the 2025/2026 financial year to KSh 71.09 billion in 2026/2027, representing an increase of KSh 425.6 million.
The allocations drawn from the National Government’s share of revenue, statutory entitlements, loans and grants from development partners will support critical sectors and programmes, including healthcare, agriculture, climate change resilience, drought response, water and sanitation.
These resources are vital in strengthening devolution, enhancing service delivery and ensuring county governments have the capacity to fulfil their constitutional mandates and improve the lives of Kenyans.
The President also assented to the County Assembly Services (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which strengthens the governance and administration of county assemblies by providing clear and fair procedures for the removal of County Assembly Service Board members and the suspension or removal of Clerks.
The law also safeguards the rights and benefits of staff on secondment. These legislative milestones reaffirm our commitment to strengthening devolved governance, promoting accountability and ensuring that public institutions are equipped to serve the people effectively.
A stronger devolution framework means better services, stronger institutions and improved livelihoods for all Kenyans.

As a woman, you don't have to apologise for your ambitions, your dreams or your desire to become more.
You are allowed to take up space, chase greatness, set boundaries and choose yourself without feeling guilty.
Your ambition is not something to be ashamed of, but it is something to be proud of, so never shrink yourself to make others comfortable with your growth...

Day 2 of the 2026 Global Parliamentary Forum, in Bangkok, Thailand 🇹🇭
I am pleased to be attending Day 2 of the 2026 Global Parliamentary Forum, hosted with the support of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Today's discussions focused on Financing Small Businesses, Smarter Credit, Taxation and Partnerships for Growth, critical pillars for building resilient economies, empowering entrepreneurs and promoting inclusive economic development.
Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of job creation, innovation and inclusive growth. Yet, many continue to face systemic barriers, including high borrowing costs, limited credit histories and complex tax systems that constrain their ability to grow and create sustainable employment.
The closed-door plenary brought together parliamentarians from across the globe, the IMF and regional financial leaders to explore the vital intersection of macroeconomic and fiscal policy, domestic revenue mobilisation, access to finance and private-sector development.
As policymakers, it is essential that we advance practical reforms that expand access to affordable credit, simplify taxation, strengthen public-private partnerships and create an enabling environment where small businesses can thrive.
Empowering MSMEs is not just an economic priority, it is an investment in jobs, innovation, opportunity and shared prosperity.
The conversations in Bangkok reaffirm the importance of collaboration, sound policy and innovative financing solutions in unlocking the full potential of small businesses for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Today’s World Bank Group flagship event in Bangkok puts AI and jobs at the center of the Annual Meetings, exploring how developing countries can harness artificial intelligence to boost productivity, expand opportunities, improve essential services and create more and better jobs.
Building on the World Development Report 2026, the event will shift the conversation from the promise of AI to the practical steps needed to deploy it at scale.
Key priorities include small AI, responsible deployment and measurable development impact.
The central question is how countries can turn AI innovation into inclusive growth, better livelihoods and tangible benefits for people and communities.

Today, I was truly honoured to moderate the IMF and World Bank Group 101 Breakfast meeting, alongside Hon. Federica Onori, MP, Italy, during the 2026 Global Parliamentary Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand, with Young Parliamentarians.
In my capacity as a Board Member of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF, it was a privilege to facilitate this important engagement, which provided an opportunity for young parliamentarians to deepen their understanding of the work, mandate and role of the two Bretton Woods institutions in advancing global development.
We were privileged to hear from two distinguished speakers; Jakob Kopperud, Director of Government and Philanthropy Relations at the World Bank Group and Tristan Hugh Walker, Deputy Chief of the Communications Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The session was an important opportunity to strengthen dialogue, enhance knowledge and encourage meaningful engagement between parliamentarians and these critical global financial institutions.
As young parliamentarians, understanding the work of the World Bank Group and the IMF is essential to informed policymaking, effective oversight and advancing sustainable and inclusive development in our respective countries.
