If an agency answers your Flock audit-log request with a transparency portal link, that's a summary, not the record. Here's what public records requests are still getting, and how to ask for the rest.

.@TomFitton The FBI is taking its sweet time releasing Butler assassination attempt records. It’s two years later, and we still don’t have the full record. People are dead! No excuse! READ: judicialwatch.org/judicial-w…

A very small victory. In our #FOIA litigation against the Defense Intelligence Agency seeking its genomic analyses of SARS-CoV-2, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden ordered DIA to complete production to us by September 7th. Judge McFadden warned the DIA, “Should it fail to meet that deadline, the Court will consider sanctions against the agency and possibly the DIA General Counsel personally.”

NEW FOIA Files newsletter is out! Here are 149 pages of documents I requested from DOJ about the Trump banners hung at the agency's HQ. The docs reveal ethics questions, security oddities and a big price tag behind the festooning of Washington.

🚨 BREAKING: The FTC has received more than 4,800 consumer complaints related to $HIMS over the past five years
Gizmodo obtained the figure through a FOIA request
The FTC released just 200 of the complaints for review
Many of the complaints are from customers who claim they were charged for subscriptions they didn't want, had trouble canceling, or couldn't get refunds

Newly released FOIA emails obtained through ICAN's lawsuit allegedly show senior NIH officials discussing reports of serious neurological injuries following the COVID vaccine rollout.
According to The HighWire, internal discussions also considered whether pursuing those reports could increase vaccine hesitancy.
If true, the implications are staggering.

UPDATE: The court raised concerns that the 2 million records in this secret room may not have been searched in response to previous FOIA cases brought by @JudicialWatch and others. The gov't lawyer for FBI refused to back down from the 158 year time line for document processing (for just HALF of the records) and suggests FBI might move to throw our request out of court as "unduly burdensome." The court suggested that the FBI and DOJ provide more information to us so we can narrow some issues.
Federal court hearing this morning on FBI's telling court it will take 158 years to process 2 million lawfare weaponization records targeting @RealDonaldTrump and other Americans. @JudicialWatch asked the court to allow it to question the FBI, through a limited deposition, about its handling of the records. FBI opposes, of course.

The question is why is the only information that we have about the Butler shooting coming from Tom Fitton, and Judicial Watch instead of from the Trump administration and the man who was shot in the ear himself?
It shouldn’t take a FOIA lawsuit to find out what happened.

Government FOIA portals have character limits.
Not because of technical constraints.
Because they were designed that way — to reduce how much you can ask for.
The portal isn't a tool for you. It's a tool against you.
A certified letter has no character limit. No mandatory fields. No intake deflection software.
And the 20-day clock starts the moment it's delivered.
