🚩Pramila Jayapal’s immigration timeline deserves scrutiny. She arrived from India in 1982, with accounts differing on whether she was 16 or 17. She describes moving through student visas, practical training, employer sponsorship, marriage-based green-card eligibility, and a residency-status issue after time in India. What were the exact visa categories, sponsors, and legal steps? The public timeline leaves questions unanswered. Transparency matters.

Read the room. Watch who you refer to as "stupid" Marco. I'm an ER Doc, I can't be that stupid, can I? Having witnessed a fake diploma indian "doctor" practicing in Texas, I have a very good grasp on these freaks. We all have eyes to see what is happening and you are enabling infinity indians to be brought to America. We are done with it.

Our op-ed on how the federal scholarship tax credit can help NYC's public school families. @placenyc_org "Critics deliberately refer to it as school vouchers, which use public funds to help families pay private school tuition. But this program is importantly different: a child does not have to leave public school to benefit. A student can remain enrolled in their public school and use a scholarship for qualified educational expenses that supplement what the school provides. State and city funding for schools remain unaffected, so our public school students will only be getting more." amny.com/opinion/hochul-educ…

What?
Here’s Somali finance minister and MP Hussein Hirsi Ahmed, fresh off a meeting with Democrat Hannah Pingree, imploring Somalis to go vote. Days later, busses start dropping illiterate Somalis and “translators” off at the polls in Lewiston. In 2024, the ME-CD2 margin was less than 2,500 votes. This is a potential D => R flip that could determine who controls the U.S. House, and the results could be settled by buses of illiterate Somalis.

🚨 WHY DOES U.S. LAW GIVE EMPLOYERS A TAX ADVANTAGE TO HIRE A FOREIGNER OVER AN AMERICAN? Same job. Same $100,000 salary. But here’s what federal law allows: • The employer can save $7,650 annually by hiring a qualifying foreign worker. • That foreign worker can also take home $7,650 MORE than an American earning the exact same salary, before income taxes. How is this possible? OPT (Optional Practical Training) is a government-created program allowing international students to work in America for up to 12 months, or up to 36 months for eligible STEM graduates. Under IRS rules, qualifying OPT workers who are nonresident aliens are exempt from Social Security and Medicare taxes. At a $100,000 salary: 🇺🇸 AMERICAN WORKER Employer payroll taxes: $7,650 Total employer cost: $107,650 Employee Social Security/Medicare: $7,650 Pay after FICA, before income taxes: $92,350 🌎 QUALIFYING OPT WORKER Employer payroll taxes: $0 Total employer cost: $100,000 Employee Social Security/Medicare: $0 Pay after FICA, before income taxes: $100,000 Think about that. An American college graduate and an international graduate could be working side by side, doing the exact same job, earning the exact same salary. Yet the employer saves thousands by hiring the foreign worker. And the foreign worker keeps thousands more from that paycheck. The American worker costs more to employ AND keeps less of the same salary. Not because of the employer’s decision. Because of federal tax law. This isn’t about blaming foreign students. It’s about asking why American workers face a tax disadvantage built into their own country’s laws. Why hasn’t Congress or this administration addressed this?

Sen. @ElissaSlotkin, nobody is arguing that people who break the law shouldn’t be prosecuted. You said you wanted young people considering jobs in the Trump administration to fear getting themselves into legal trouble. You called it a “deterrence message.” Now you’re pretending you merely said people should follow the law. We heard what you said the first time. Your subsequent explanations don’t erase the record.
Follow the law, and we don't have a problem.

Immigration policy must be driven by the present, not the past, and business leaders are too terrified of the left AND the right to acknowledge this. Recent H1B discourse revolves around a longstanding immigration sleight-of-hand. H1B proponents point to exceptional people who came here decades ago as if they represent the current state of the program in the same way that advocates for low-skill/illegal immigration point to very favorable immigrant crime/welfare/education/etc statistics that do, in truth, have them beating native-born Americans on many fronts. It is all a sham. The world that created those statistics, people, and businesses no longer exists. Brilliant but desperate Vietnamese fathers who fled communism have nothing in common with young men from Honduras, and the crime rates/economic acccomplishments/integration of the former should not be used to justify mass migration of the latter. Nor should the accomplishments of people who managed to get an H1B visa in the 90s (when the program was capped to just 65,000 visas) be used to justify staffing agencies and tech companies using the program to replace American jobs for less money. The obvious abuse going on is politically suicidal and something that even the most ardent supporters of the visa should want to crack down on, no immigration program can possibly survive the obvious and widely known reality of what is going on. I am a longtime outspoken advocate for stealing the best people from other countries to make our own better, runaway abuse of existing programs robs the government of the worker trust required to do so. Lots of people in the tech space know this. Even the dumb people are smart enough to see it. Nobody actually believes these are all incredible people with unique talents performing jobs no American can. Everyone knows the guy in Cubicle Bay 7 doing mediocre but functional web design for half the salary of his American peers is no savant and doesn't meet the statutory requirements for his H-1B visa. Unfortunately, most people with power or profile are terrified that any public statement or acknowledgement will get them attacked by the right (You guys have been screwing over American workers for years with visa abuse, you damn hypocrite!) or the left (You are racist, sexist, misogynist, and sucking up to this fascist administration!). Or, more likely, both. I know too many tech execs in particular who feel trapped, like the only winning move is to stay silent. JD is blowing the whole thing wide open by putting facts and stats front and center that nobody wants to engage with. Critics will talk about anything and everything else but these damning facts and this obvious truth, that H1B visas serve neither their original purpose, legal purpose, invented purpose, or the American people.
Vice President JD Vance breaks down the data: "If you are working as an H-1B visa in the United States of America, you’re earning $20,000 less than an American citizen hired in the same position. If you were brought in by one of these foreign outsourcing firms, you’re making $48,000 less than an American citizen in a similar position. So I’m sure that everybody here understands the game that is being played. You bring in indentured servants from outside the country, you lay off American workers and, if you’re a corporation, you make a ton of money by under cutting the wages of American workers, replacing them with people who frankly shouldn’t be in the United States of America to begin with."

Optical illusion! Visas are down, but all these foreigners were already here on different visas, including F1/F2/J1/L1/L2/B1/B2/DACA and others, and they didn't need visa approval, which is only required to enter the USA. They filed a COS (change of status) within the USA, got H1B approvals, and are still getting those! @USCIS is still approving H1Bs even after 14 months of no work in the USA with a B2 COS + extension filing, and again a COS to H1B. No visa stamp required! xitter.cf/SanDiegoKnight/status/…
🚨 H-1B VISA ISSUANCE HAS COLLAPSED 52%. BUT THE H-1B LOTTERY STILL FILLED. A new analysis of State Department records reveals: • H-1B visas: Down 52%. • H-2B visas: Down 44%. • Student and exchange visas: Down 29%. • Temporary worker visas overall: Down 29%. These figures compare October 2025 through February 2026 with the same period a year earlier. But here’s what matters. The H-1B lottery still reached its annual cap. How is that possible? Because the lottery and visa issuance measure two different things. The lottery selects registrations for potential H-1B petitions. State Department data measures visas issued at U.S. consulates abroad. Workers changing from OPT to H-1B status inside the United States generally don’t need a new visa stamp. Neither do H-1B workers transferring between employers while maintaining valid status. And the latest lottery occurred after the period covered by this report. So a 52% decline in visa issuance does NOT mean a 52% decline in H-1B employment. The real questions: Are American workers getting more opportunities? Are employers relying on existing H-1B workers and OPT? Or are companies simply moving more jobs overseas? Until we measure actual employment, not just visa stamps, we don’t know whether these restrictions are creating more jobs for Americans. migrationpolicy.org/journal/…

Absolutely insane. Fraudulent make-work nonsense.
How bad is administrative bloat in higher ed? At MIT, the “student body has grown by 8% and its faculty by 9% since the mid-1980s. By comparison, the tally of administrators jumped by 189%.”

No, actually Congress should not get involved in the business of policing the speech of citizens online. COVID should have taught us that the time to stand up for core principles that make America, America is during a ‘crisis’ . Free speech, Private property rights, the right to operate your small business , the right to refuse a medical therapeutic — all should be inviolable. Cc @AlexBerenson
Anti-Indian hate is exploding on social media, and Big Tech is profiting from it. These companies have no incentive to stop the hatred they help spread. Congress must hold them accountable.

Welcome to the enlightened parents club! @michelleinbklyn Great essay that accurately portrays the high school applications process. If privates or religious schools were options, you can pile those separate tests, interviews and essays on top of the ones for @NYCSchools. "We’re hanging our hopes on the SHSAT, an SAT-like test that determines access to eight of the city’s specialized high schools, as well as a handful of other public schools with their own tests, essays and interviews. And while I respect arguments against the charter school movement — I even agree with some of them — we’ve applied to a well-regarded Brooklyn charter school and I have found myself wishing there were more." I also agree that there should be more zoned high schools so there's having the local school as your backup. Make those big and good. nytimes.com/2026/10/19/opini…

Nice story in NYT on the growing affordability crisis. My only nit was the takeaway, which failed to explore whether any of the price hikes in healthcare, concert tickets, skiing, or other industries assessed here could be attributed to monopolization or price fixing. The authors blame rising child care prices on workers (sigh), ignoring private equity roll-ups of child care centers.

This foreigner is probably already working at Purdue as an assistant professor on OPT, which will expire in January. Purdue most probably also gave a PhD education to this foreigner with a taxpayer-funded scholarship! The date and 52K salary tell it all. University-sponsored H-1 B filing will always be a no-lottery, cap-exempt, with a guaranteed 100% approval for this foreign worker. Most probably, this is an aged-out dependent kid of an H1B working at the university itself. My post will explain how it is done to keep their aged-out kid of H1Bs working at non-profits/universties who are exempt from the H1B lottery! xitter.cf/ChillMode2345/status/2…
