The NHS in Coventry and Warwickshire stands together in condemning this racist violence. It is completely unacceptable. Coventry and Warwickshire is a proudly diverse health and care system with staff from all over the world working together to support local people and communities and we stand with them in full support. We also want to reiterate that we have absolutely zero tolerance to any abuse of our staff. Whether in a GP practice, hospital, dental practice, pharmacy, working in care homes or the community it is unacceptable for staff to feel unsafe, be threatened or receive abuse. We will take action against anyone abusing our staff, including police involvement and potentially refusing treatment. The NHS stands united on this – there is no excuse for abuse.

Coventry and Warwickshire is a proudly diverse health and care system with staff from all over the world working together to support local people and communities and we stand with them in full support. We value every person, as is explicit in the NHS Constitution, – whether patient, their families, carers, or staff – as an individual regardless of their background, and we work for the benefit of the whole community to make sure nobody is excluded, discriminated against or left behind. We understand that some of you will be worried about your own safety as well as that of your families and colleagues. Across the ICS we take a zero-tolerance approach to violence, intimidation and inappropriate behaviour of any kind and we will support you to speak up. We will listen and take action.
