For survivors of atrocities, manufactured doubt means having to prove their suffering again & again. Scrutiny shifts from those responsible to those who survived. Confusion becomes an excuse for inaction, giving perpetrators more time to evade justice.🌪️😑Consequences compound...

Protecting survivors starts with protecting their identity. Meris Musanovic highlights how sharing survivors’ photos and videos online can expose their identities, put their safety at risk, and make it harder to participate safely in justice proceedings. The concern is exposure and intimidation—not an automatic legal ban on testifying. Responsible documentation puts survivors’ safety, privacy, and dignity first. Abdullah Tırpan, a 73-year-old prisoner in Türkiye, has died in hospital after repeated appeals for his release on medical grounds, according to reporting confirmed by his daughter. His leg had been amputated as his health deteriorated. His family had asked for his sentence to be postponed so he could receive treatment outside prison. They deserve answers. Who assessed him as fit to remain in prison? Were warnings acted on promptly? We call for an independent investigation into his care and the decisions that kept him in custody.@adalet_bakanlik Any officials found responsible for unlawful failures must be held accountable.
