On 2 November 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) had the privilege of welcoming the Commanding Officer of INS Trishul, Captain Charit Kapil IND (N) and the Defence Attaché of India to the Hellenic Republic, Colonel Gaurav Chaudhry IND (A).

From 19 to 23 October 2026 the NMIOTC delivered its Resident Course 17000 “Train the Trainers - Technical Instructor”, hosting eight (8) participants from Bahrain, Czech Republic, Georgia and Greece.

From 19 to 23 October 2026, the NMIOTC delivered its Resident Course 14000, “Maritime IED Disposal (M-IEDD),” hosting eight (8) participants from Bahrain, Greece, Romania, and Qatar.

From 12 to 16 October 2026, the NMIOTC delivered Course 12000 “C-IED in Maritime Interdiction Operations”, hosting eleven (11) participants from Georgia, Greece, Italy, Kuwait, Mauritania and Ukraine.

From 28 September to 9 October 2026 the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre provided (under the auspices of NATO HQ IS/PASP) a two-week MIO Tactical Tailored Training to participants/members of the Bahrain and Qatar Armed Forces.

From 5 to 9 October 2026, the NMIOTC delivered Course 25000 “Drafting, Production & Maintenance of NATO Standards”, hosting thirty three (33) participants representing Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, United Kingdom and USA.

From 5 to 7 October 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) delivered the “EUNAVFOR MED FVB Course” to Command and Boarding Teams of HS NAVARINON and ITS CIGALA FULGOSI.

On 2 October 2026 NMIOTC delivered one-day Tailored Training to a 17-member Boarding Team from the Spanish Navy Frigate ESPS SANTA MARIA, aiming at improving their Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) capacity in Maritime Interdiction Operations as well as their skills in CQB.

From 21 September to 2 October 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre conducted the 2026 iteration of its resident Course 5000 “Maritime Operational Terminology Course” (MOTC).

From 9 to 20 February 2026, the NMIOTC delivered its Resident Courses 2000 “Boarding Team Theoretical Issues” and 3000 “Boarding Team Practical Issues” in tandem, hosting twenty eight (28) participants

From 14 to 25 September 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre delivered its resident Course “C-IED Considerations in Maritime Force Protection”, with the participation of nine (9) trainees from Algeria, Belgium, Colombia, Georgia, Jordan, Italy, Ukraine

The NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) successfully concluded its 10th Conference on Cyber Security in the Maritime Domain, held in Souda Bay, Greece, from 23 to 24 September 2026.

From 11 to 13 September 2026, NMIOTC delivered a tailored training to forty (40) members of SOF and Boarding Teams of Nations participating in the multinational Joint Invitation Exercise ‘’MEDUSA 15/2026’’.

From 7 to 11 September 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre conducted the 2026 iteration of its resident Course 16000 “Maritime Aspects of Joint Operations”.

From 7 to 11 September 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre conducted the 2026 iteration of its resident Course 1000 “Command Team MIO Issues”, hosting twelve (12) participants representing Algeria, Croatia, Georgia, Jordan, Kuwait, Malta, and Ukraine.

From 8 to 9 July 26, NMIOTC delivered a pre deployment tailored training on Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) techniques and procedures to 12 members Georgian Boarding Team ahead of their participation in OSG FOCOPS 26 – 4.

From 1 to 2 July 2026, the NATO Maritime Interdiction Operational Training Centre (NMIOTC) participated with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the NATO – ICI Maritime Security Flagship Project Dialogue, held near NATO HQ MARCOM, in Northwood (U.K.).

On 14 and 20 July 26, NMIOTC hosted the German EOD School for their climate zone training. The German teams accompanied by their dogs trained in the search of weapons, ammunitions and explosives on board NMIOTC’s training platform AXIOS.

From 10 to 13 July 2026, NMIOTC supported Exercise BREEZE 26 in Varna, Bulgaria with a Mobile Education and Training Team (METT), delivering a tailored Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) training to 15 participants representing Bulgaria and Romania.
