.@POTUS: "I think it's largely true because it drove the gasoline up... At the same time, if I had to do it again, I'd have to do it again because long-term, it's the only answer. You can't let Iran have a nuclear weapon."
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Last night is exactly why no President has dealt with Iran before now We don't reward Presidents for acting in the best long-term interest of the country We reward them for avoiding difficult decisions if it means we don't have to make any sacrifices during any given 2yr period

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the Iran war, a president saying he would do what he thinks is right for the country regardless of short term political fallout is very refreshing.

Exactly! When I grew up in Communist China, I was surrounded by completely brainwashed people, including myself. Now in the US, I’m surrounded by people even more brainwashed than the communists I grew up with in China. Communism thrives on a dumbed-down population. And the dumbing down is systematically carried out through schools, the media, and Hollywood!
When I grew up in the USSR, I was surrounded by people who were completely brainwashed. Now, when I live in the US, I’m surrounded by people who are even more brainwashed than communists I grew up with in the USSR. It’s insane.

A spot on analysis. This was an economy-first election: the test to see if Republicans could deliver for the historic coalition DJT and JD assembled in 2024. When Republicans failed the test, voters took it out on them with ferocity. But they still like the agenda much more than the socialist alternative. Also rebooting our relationship with Israel does not need to be hateful or antisemitic. It can be done in a mutually beneficial way.

For a month we compared pollsters and prediction market investors on their ability to project the 2026 midterm elections. The verdict is in! Pollsters and Kalshi investors got this election right. Republican strategists charged with GOTV got it wrong.
I’m excited to announce we have a partnership with Kalshi to examine who is better at predicting elections: pollsters or investors. Each day I’ll highlight a prediction market projection versus polling. We will do a TV special before the Election and follow up after voters settle the races. This Texas Senate race is top of my list. teapawt.org/kalshipolitics/status/…

Valentyna, the woman who exposed a secret Azov detention facility near Kyiv, is explaining to journalists in court why she went there in the first place. She went there to save a man's life. She was asked to help by a woman named Tetiana, who has also been arrested (!). The man was in critical condition and desperately needed medical attention. He had recently undergone surgery. He had a stoma — part of his intestine had been surgically brought out through an opening in his abdomen. On top of that, he was suffering from five other serious medical conditions. And despite all this, he was being held there against his will, by force. Valentyna went there as a medical professional, trying to rescue a man who urgently needed help. She had no idea the place was an alleged secret Azov detention facility. And now, because this involves the untouchable, "elite" Azov, she is the one they are going to crucify. She is the one they will persecute. She is the one they will try to blame for everything. Not the people who held men captive by force. Not the people who were beating them. Not those responsible for what happened inside that facility. No. The woman who came to help a seriously ill man is the one being treated as the criminal. Do you understand the sheer perversity of this?

So, I am being accused of treason. Here is why. Yesterday, Zelenskyy visited the German Bundestag and apparently learned that I was scheduled to speak here today. Immediately after his visit, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor General’s Office announced in the media that I was suspected of treason. The same thing happened a month and a half ago, when Zelenskyy personally imposed sanctions on me as soon as he learned that I was going to address the European Parliament. Now, take a closer look: the traitor is not Yermak, who faces allegations of laundering $10 million. Not Mindich or Halushchenko, who are suspected of laundering more than $100 million. The traitor is Mendel, who has not stolen a single penny. Do you know what this treason case is being fabricated for? For speaking about you, the Ukrainian people. About how tired you are of corruption and war, how you struggle with poverty and are forced to survive under coercive mobilization, about the horrors at the front and the torture inflicted by the recruitment centers. That is what this treason case is being fabricated for. This is a clear sign of Zelenskyy’s weakness and his fear of words. He is afraid of his own former press secretary. And that only confirms that I am doing the right thing. Stay tuned for my speech at the Bundestag today. For, as Christ said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.”
