I am a professor at the @UofCalifornia. I am appalled by the conduct of one of its Regents, Scott Galloway, appointed in August by Governor Newsom. @profgalloway is one of only 26 voting Regents entrusted with governing a university system serving hundreds of thousands of students & employing tens of thousands of faculty & staff. Twice, first on a live Pivot episode featuring Hillary Clinton & on Prof G with Fareed Zakaria, Galloway called Elon Musk a “traitor to the West.” He invoked Julius & Ethel Rosenberg, who were executed for espionage, and declared that Musk should be held to the same standards. He didn’t explicitly demand Musk’s execution. But invoking the deaths of two convicted spies while calling an American citizen a traitor makes the implication hard to miss. Musk has not been convicted of treason. Indeed, “treason against the West” isn’t even an actual crime. Now imagine UCLA alumnus @BenShapiro, appointed a UC Regent, saying the same about George Soros. Would the Governor defend his right to serve? Would Regent leadership shrug and call it provocative commentary? Or would there be demands for resignation? But there’s something worse here than another of Scott’s trademark podcast rants. He sits on the Regents’ Academic & Student Affairs Committee. The committee’s charter says it oversees student conduct, faculty conduct, academic personnel, & campus climate, among other responsibilities. This is not some honorary title. The Board sets university policy, controls institutional budgets, & appoints senior university leadership. You can unsubscribe from a podcast. A student who finds Scott’s comments morally repugnant can’t unsub from the Regents. UC bylaws require Regents to serve the public trust with a “high degree of ethics and candor,” including as private citizens. Professors owe students intellectual integrity. Regents bear an even greater duty: they govern institutions that teach it. Yet a Regent serving on the committee responsible for student & faculty conduct invokes executions while labeling a fellow citizen a traitor. What does that say to our students? That intellectual restraint is expected of the governed but optional for those who govern? That standards of conduct depend on whether the target of your rhetoric is politically fashionable to despise, as long as the audience applauds? This isn’t about defending @ElonMusk. He needs no defense from me. Nor is it about silencing Scott. As if that were possible. He’s free to express his opinions, however reckless they may be. But freedom of speech is not freedom from accountability, and holding a university office of public trust is not an entitlement. There is an enormous moral chasm between exercising your right to speak recklessly and demonstrating the judgment required of one of the 26 people who govern our great public university. The UC Board of Regents isnt a podcast sponsors can boycott. It’s a public trust. One final irony. At @NYUStern, Galloway teaches Brand Strategy, including a session on crisis management. His own prescription for leadership in a crisis is unequivocal: acknowledge the problem, have leadership take responsibility, and “overcorrect.” He’s praised the departure of corporate leaders as evidence of effective crisis management. Now Galloway himself sits on the UC Board of Regents. Will he hold himself to the standards he teaches, or does accountability apply only to other people’s institutions? Professor lecture thyself! I believe Scott Galloway should seriously consider whether his continued service on the Board of Regents is consistent with the ethical standards and responsibilities of that office, or whether he should resign. I welcome the opportunity to discuss these issues with Galloway directly, including what standards we should expect of those entrusted with governing the world’s best university. Scott, you have an open invitation to join me on @Into_Impossible for an honest conversation.

I want to be José
Ron Baron is 83. In front of thousands of investors in New York, he looked at Elon Musk and asked the one question an 83-year-old asks. "How do you want people to think about you?" For the full hour before, it had been trillion-dollar chip fabs. Starship. Starlink. The business of the richest man alive. Then Baron added, quieter: "Nobody would work the way you work just to accumulate money." Elon paused. "I'd like the reality to be that I made a significant contribution in the furtherance of civilization." One sentence. Civilization. And then, in the same room, he told them about Jose. Jose is the guy in the meme. One man digging a hole in the road. Eight men standing around watching him dig. "Unless you increase the number of Joses in the country, the amount of work done does not increase." "I aspire to be Jose." "We do actual work." This from a man who lives in an Airstream parked next to his power plant in Memphis. Who pulls power cables "the size of an anaconda" with his own hands. Asked how he wants history to remember him, he said civilization. Asked who he wants to be, he said the guy with the shovel. The richest man in the world wants to dig. 🇺🇸🚀

.@AGToddBlanche: "Have you been listening to the rhetoric the past couple days? You honestly think that all they're doing is talking about their oversight obligations when they're talking about going after basically every member of the cabinet? They're talking about impeachments, they're talking about going after private companies who happen to have made investments in this country over the past couple years? That is NOT oversight."
.@AGToddBlanche on Democrats: "They've threatened donors, they've threatened individuals who are in college and might want to work for conservative institutions or for a conservative government or for President Trump, and that is extremely troubling. It should be troubling to everybody in this country."

I think a lot of people are completely wrong about what caused this midterm "blue tsunami." I also believe that much of the hyperbolic, misguided analysis is coming from people who have hated Trump for a long time and who have been eagerly waiting with bated breath to declare the end of Trump and MAGA. "It was obviously the Iran War. Trump didn't put America first. He betrayed America. It was gas prices. Only a fool would think otherwise." Ok. Fair enough. Allow me to present a hypothetical scenario. Let's pretend that Trump #2 never started the war with Iran. Imagine if the price of gas was not around $4.00 a gallon but instead, let's say something low, assume $2.70 a gallon. Pretend inflation was at a near perfect 2% for the year and GDP was cruising along at a 15 year high. Assume wages were up and unemployment was at about a 50 year low. No war. Great economy. That would have won Republicans the midterms right? That would have prevented Democrats from flipping 41 House seats and 5 Governorships? Those hypotheticals I listed above are what was happening in 2018 before the midterms. And yet, Democrats flipped 41 House seats and 7 Governorships during the midterms. The Senate races turned out differently because Democrats were defending races all around the country in 2018. Republicans took back a couple red states. But the 2018 midterms were considered a massive blue wave for Democrats. No Iran War, economy booming, and still, that's how the midterms turned out. Here's a fun fact. There were approximately 35.5 million Democrat votes during the 2014 midterms. There were approximately 61 million Democrat votes during the 2018 midterms. 25 million more Democrat votes during a booming economy. Do the current criticisms of Trump's second term explain that? Trump went from 63 million votes in 2016, to 74 million in 2020, to 77 million in 2024. During each of his three midterms (2018, 2022, 2026), the Republican vote has increased substantially. But those increases do not compete with the additional 20 million Democrat vote bumps that happened in 2018, 2020, and 2026. The question for Republicans becomes why do these gigantic Democrat vote bumps happen. How are they doing it? Is it because people hate Trump? They hate his policies? If those things were true, he would not continually gain support for himself and for the Republican Party. Without even touching voter fraud, I believe that there is a clear, multi-faceted strategy that Democrats employed in 2018, 2020, and 2026 to drive insane amounts of people to polls, regardless of economic conditions. It's not difficult to identify, but Republicans don't talk about it and certainly don't have an answer for it. And Democrats can do it at will when needed. Yes Trump won in 2024, but he was the only Republican that would have won and his win was helped by some unprecedented circumstances. Democrats were caught off guard. They did not make that mistake this time around. Trump's second term has been far from perfect. Lots of mistakes and unforced errors. And once again, many terrible personnel choices by Trump. That being said, I also believe that things could have been close to perfect right now and Republicans would have still gotten crushed during the midterms. Look at 2018. Perception is everything. Republicans are not prepared or even willing to step on to the field with Democrats in this regard. The Democrats are a cohesive, well oiled, united machine working in perfect harmony with the MSM. Together they can create and push any narrative they want to push. Republicans not only have no answer to this, they instead spend their time fighting each other. Democrats don't argue about policy. They create mass hysteria and fear. It's all emotion. It's their entire platform. Most Americans don't like their policies. But they are playing a game in which policy and ideas and reality do not factor into the equation. And there are very clear strategies that they use to create this mass hysteria and to drive voter turnout. Republicans are just going to keep helplessly watching this happen over and over again. They learned nothing from Trump's first term. The exact same lies, smears and hoaxes were used again, except this time around they replaced Russia with Epstein. Same game plan to the tee. For example, they created the same immigration hysteria that they did in 2018. Everything happened again. Democrats were doing No Kings/Fight Fascism protests back in 2018 over immigration. People don't remember this but they were. I've posted videos about it. Bernie proudly declaring "No Kings." The immigration hysteria is especially effective at getting women riled up. People don't remember Kamala Harris taking a ladder to climb a fence to break into an ICE facility in 2018 or Rachel Maddow fake crying on TV, AOC crying at the fence, or Oprah holding her book club at the border. Protesters literally glueing themselves to the ground in protest (over nothing). A Time Magazine cover with Trump menacingly towering of a crying migrant child. The audio recording of a baby crying that the MSM played on repeat for weeks before the midterms. The British PM Theresa May publicly condemning "kids in cages" (the same cages that Obama built and used). Republicans just sat idly on their hands and watched it happen all again, making no attempt at rebuttal. Democrats are on TV every hour of every day. Republicans politicians can't even bring themselves to post on social media in defense of enforcing the law. No matter who the next Republican President is, if he or she attempts to enforce immigration laws, Democrats will turn it into a midterm win. Guaranteed. And that's just one weapon in their playbook. Republicans don't even know how to deal with the sabotage coming from their own side, let alone unite in a perception war with the Democrat Party. Before the 2022 midterms inflation had reached a 40 year high, gas was above $5.00 a gallon, more people died from Covid in 2021 than in 2020, the botched Afghanistan withdrawal happened, the border was wide open and Biden was struggling to walk and talk. Still, Democrats only lost a few House seats and even picked up a Senate seat. With all that happening, why didn't 20 million more Republicans vote during the 2022 midterms than in 2018? If economy matters so much, why was there no red wave? Have an election "expert" answer that one. People who are playing Monday morning quarterback and criticizing everything Trump has done this time around are so not prepared for or even aware of the war that is being waged. They most likely care. They are ok with losing and many just want to declare all things Trump dead and buried. Maybe next election they will decide to fight back against the incredible machine Democrats. Good luck with that. The Republicans who are so joyfully celebrating the end of "Trumpism" are in for a rude awakening when he's gone. Trump has increased his support and Republican support in every Presidential and midterm election he has been involved in. I'm going to lay out in another post some detailed thoughts on the strategies Democrats have used to turn out massive amounts of votes and what Republicans might consider doing in response. It's nothing genius but there is a clear, detailed method to the Democrat madness and nobody seems to be talking about it or even care about it. Granted, I'm just a guy on X who doesn't know much, but it doesn't hurt to post my thoughts so I will.

The Atlantic blames @HarmeetKDhillon for the “destruction” of the DOJ’s civil rights division on the grounds that 70% of the Biden-era lawyers who worked there quit during her tenure. What The Atlantic does not tell you is that Dhillon’s predecessor was progressive activist Kristen Clarke, an extremely controversial Biden appointment who, prior to joining the DOJ, was best known for antisemitism. She famously invited the author of a hate tract called “The Jewish Question” to speak on the Harvard campus under the auspices of the Black Student Union. At DOJ, Clarke used the Civil Rights division to force state and local governments to adopt illegal DEI programs and dismantle policing and criminal justice enforcement. She was the threat of government legal action pushing the adoption of the most noxious woke policies during the Biden era. She did immense damage to the DOJ and the country, she forced the adoption of unpopular and ineffective policies and she filled her department with ideologues, activists and diversity hires who do not belong anywhere near the levers of power. The transformation of the Civil Rights Division and the removal of Kristen Clarke’s loyalists is one of the biggest accomplishments of the Trump administration. Dhillon is a hero and has done a great service to her country.

This election fiasco… Oklahoma stayed red when all around us turned blue. We used a pen to fill in the bubbles next to our choices. We walked to the scanner, waited for the message stating our vote had been accepted and walked out. Previously, we had machines to make our selections for us. I thought it interesting that we had paper ballots rather than the machines. How odd that Oklahoma stayed red. I’m guessing it’s easier to change a vote made from a machine, than change them from a scanner. Now I want to know how many of the “newly blue” states used machines and who used paper ballots…

Here's another truth. As far as I can tell, the majority of the Administration is just interested in fighting over who defines the Republican party after Trump and seizing the narrative ground post-midterms. A lot of behind-the-scenes infighting is about this. All the while Democrats are hellbent on "structural reform" and "accountability" which is a nice way of saying they intend to tear down our Republic and jail us. Republicans need to wake up. There will be no Republican party left to lead if you are fighting each other over who inherits it, while the Democrats dismantle our country. Start defending our nation instead. Stop the coup.

Have you guys seen this story? An Arkansas bar examiner was rationing bar scores. She'd take points from one person and give it to someone with low scores, allowing them to pass the bar exam. Why is it important? What if you trusted an attorney with your most important issues and it turns out that they were UNQUALIFIED??? Here's the story. * Nancie Givens, 62, former executive director of Arkansas’s Office of Professional Programs, arrested Thursday * Charged with 65 felony counts of tampering with a public record * Bond: $2,500. Pleaded not guilty. * She ran the office that supports the State Board of Law Examiners (who gets a law license) * Retired in February after ~13 years in charge What prosecutors and the Arkansas Supreme Court say she did: * Altered Bar Exam scores across at least 8 test administrations from July 2020 to July 2025 * Scores changed for at least 64 people * “Harvested” points from some examinees and added them to others in the same exam * Boosted some people up to the 270 passing score * In at least one case, someone who should have PASSED was made to FAIL * In another, the rightful TOP scorer got docked so somebody else got the honor * About 11,400 files deleted or missing (apps, profiles, score sheets that must be kept 25 years) * Thumb drive with files recovered at her home So let’s ask the obvious questions: * How many people are practicing law in Arkansas right now who shouldn’t have a license? * How many people who EARNED a pass were robbed of a career? * Was she taking bribes? * Was she favoring people by race, politics, connections, school, last name? * Or was this just socialism for the bar exam? Steal points from the competent. Hand them to the ones who couldn’t cut it. * Why is bond only $2,500 for 65 felonies that poison the entire justice system? * Who are the beneficiaries? Names. Now. * Who has been representing clients, arguing cases, and advising businesses on a fake pass? Your lawyer. Your opposing counsel. Your judge someday. Built on a cooked score sheet?
