Does King think Talarico is running for Texas state Senate?
Elon Musk is afraid of Talarico because he [Musk] has a lot of business in Texas. It has nothing to do with principles or programs; for Musk, it's all about the Benjamins.

Clearly the solution is to stop doing business with the government. Can't have essential public missions if you no longer do public missions. NASA can go back to paying the Russians for trips to the ISS.
The looters are now calling for the nationalization of Grok

"Libertarian socialist" thinks governments shouldn't have to honor contracts.
the fact that there's a debate about the Terms of Service of a private company in regards to how nation fucking states conduct wars should tell you all about how the capital class has usurped control and subsumed their power no single unelected private citizen should be able to exert control over nation states the capital class has gone completely insane and they need to be put in check and America should start with Elon by nationalizing everything he fucking owns and investigating his overt control over matters of states, his collusion with the Trump admin, and the gutting of agencies and departments that aim to serve the people. send a message to the rest of the capital class to sit the fuck down Capital unchecked will destroy the institutions protecting the democratic processes and theres multiple examples of this just from this one fucking guy man if the Dems dont go after him with everything they got after the midterms, they'd be dropping the ball like they did with Trump's failed coup

We know they have been. That was never in question. Whether these terminals are commercial Starlink or military Starshield is what’s unknown, though with a board serial number, SpaceX could probably figure it out for this example.
Breaking! Elon Musk scolds Zelenskyy as he admits using Starlink for offensive operations. There’s also more unearthed videos and photo evidence that Starlink terminals are being mounted in Ukraine attack drones. It’s time to kick Ukraine of Starlink completely! @elonmusk Receipts below

The Starlink ToS clearly prohibit drone use of *any* kind. Not just military, and not just offensive use.
They all agreed until last week that strikes on your own territory against an invading force is defensive not offensive. That's what Elon is calling a loophole. They didn't care and allowed it for over 4 years. Anyone with a functioning brain knows this is theatre for midterms.

Challengable on what basis? The rule is that I t’s literally a judgement call by the umpire. Also, it was absolutely a swing.

He doesn’t have to provide them at all. Sure, SpaceX is getting compensated for the service being provided, but they are taking a tremendous risk. Russia has space launch, satellite, and crucially, anti-satellite capabilities.
Replying to @HayekRonald
It's just ridiculous—the services Elon Musk provides are paid for by European countries. Musk isn't providing Ukraine with free services; he's being paid for them. Since this is a contract, he is obligated to fulfill it in full!

What’s to determine? SpaceX is a private company. They get to decide if their ToS were violated. The CEO just said they were. End of story. I suspect Ukraine doesn’t want too many questions asked regarding just what they were doing to violate the terms.
This is more evidence for Congress, which can easily determine if Ukraine violated any terms of service. It also constitutes a tacit admission by Musk that he played a part — if not the central role — in throttling Starlink.

lol - ironically, the most fascist thing I’ve seen on here today
I’m not interested in having a substantive discussion. I’m interested in my political party using its power to damage Elon Musk and his interests as much as humanly possible. Discussion ended the moment Musk did a Nazi Salute and sent DOGE rampaging. Now I want scalps.

You're welcome. The evidence still seems a bit circumstantial at the moment, but the puzzle pieces are fitting together well. Most Ukranian drones use the Starlink Mini. The Starlink Mini is not compatible with Starshield. It must operate on a commercial plan. Commercial plans forbid offensive military use. The velocity limits have been in place for over 7 months.
Outstanding post by Paul. Well well well, Ukraine did it to themselves and how??? By violating terms of service and the Starlink system repairing that. They were using Starlink illegally which caused them to lose high speed connectivity Literally FAFO by the universe. Thank you Paul

This is simply false. Complain that it’s not enough - fine - but saying something easily disprovable just makes you look like a fool and discredits your position.
Over the last two years, $100 million in European taxpayer money has gone to Elon Musk to pay for Starlink for Ukraine. In that same period, zero US taxpayer money has gone to Ukraine.

This fits the known facts and provides a plausible explanation for pretty much everything. Ingenious of the Ukrainians, but this whole thing was self-inflicted. Pointing the finger at Musk was a dick move though.
‼️‼️ Now this is something! 🔽 This technical thread suggests (explains) that the entire Starlink/shield slowdown issue is not a consequence of a political decision in the US or by Musk but the result of Ukrainian engineers hacking the system to bypass it's controls and do something they are not permitted to do - and when Starlink took steps to prevent the bypassing and ensure the controls remained effective, suddenly the system stopped working in 'bypass mode' - and Zelensky then set out to politicise matters. The explanation makes the bits of the puzzle fit together and fits with the New York Times article in which Ukrainians explained that although the system is formally limited to 100 mph they have managed to exceed it. ~~~~ "What was really going on with the Starlink scandal in Ukraine? An analysis of the technical modifications, hacker boards, Elon Musk’s restrictions, and why drones started falling at the end of 2026 and Zelensky staged a pre-election Trump scandal. Big thread 👇 1/15 Let’s start with the tariffs. Inside the country, only civilian Starlink has always worked: the basic tariff ($100), commercial in-motion ($400), and priority headquarters ($2–4k). Aviation tariffs cost up to $1K–20K–100K+, but they are unavailable in the country. 2/15 Because of the high load, the network was overloaded. SpaceX had to keep prices high for the military in order to build an excess of ground stations around Ukraine for minimal signal latency. By the way, these sites with antenna domes recently began to be burned on orders from the darknet. 3/15 The main problem at the front is electronic warfare (EW). Because of GPS jamming, civilian Starlink chips froze, and with false location the terminal was blocked. The solution was a GPS hack board. Engineers soldered it inside to manually set the required coordinates. 4/15 The hack boards also allowed bypassing Musk’s geographic zones. For a long time Starlink did not work in the gray zone under Russian control. But if you entered the coordinates of a neighboring region of Ukraine, the connection came back to life. The Russians used this too, until Kyiv received exclusive whitelists. 5/15 By 2025 Musk began tightening the screws and lowering speed limits for commercial tariffs. But military engineers discovered a loophole: technically the satellite-terminal communication session is not rigidly tied to GPS. The protection was only on the terminal module itself. 6/15 If the terminal thought via the hack board that it was static, it itself sent a radio request to the satellite and received the necessary data for the session. There are already about 10,000 satellites, and the signal was picked up even with a spread of 150+ km. The drone was flying, but the Starlink server considered it stationary. 7/15 This was a shared secret. Before being sent to the front, the cases of new Starlinks were massively opened in order to solder in the GPS hack and install durable moisture-proof connectors. This way the ordinary tariff allowed drones to fly at high speeds. 8/15 At the beginning of 2026 Musk lowered the speed of the commercial tariff to 160 km/h across the entire planet. This is below the speed of many simple UAVs with a tailwind. But because of the mass use of hack boards in Ukraine, no one noticed this. The terminals reported that they were supposedly standing still. 9/15 At the END of 2026 SpaceX responded harshly. A server-side check was introduced: if according to GPS the terminal is stationary, but at the same time it switches from satellite to satellite too quickly (which reveals a real speed above 160 km/h), the server instantly drops the session. 10/15 The GPS hack stopped working. Ukrainian military began having problems with long-range UAVs. Now flights must be strictly planned so as not to exceed the 160 km/h limit. There is not always money for aviation tariffs, and SpaceX does not sell them because of the attacking nature of the use. 11/15 Against this background Zelensky is trying to get access to StarShield (the US military Starlink) without restrictions in order to fly over the Russian Federation. But Trump, Musk, and the Pentagon refuse him. The Ukrainians presented the restrictions as a political blockade, remaining silent about the fact that the Starlink speed limit has already been in place for a year. 12/15 Now there is behind-the-scenes ping-pong: Musk says that he changed nothing these days, Rubio states that StarShield is unavailable to Ukraine. The bottom line: Starlink is gradually being squeezed into the framework of cars and stationary use. Bypassing the system no longer works. 13/15 Whether the speed check was turned off or access was given to special aviation tariffs is still unclear. The failure affected a narrow segment of drones. However, satellite communication on super-high-speed drones was already a compromise because of the signal delays of 1000 km to orbit and back. 14/15 Russian UAV specialists are in no hurry to rejoice. The simplicity of using Starlink slowed down the development of other technologies in Ukraine. Now Kyiv can, on an emergency priority basis, refine more complex autonomous mesh-AI systems that will fly deep into the Russian Federation. End of thread. 15/15 Written based on materials from last year’s newspapers, most likely not true and total nonsense. No one and nothing is right on the internet. Author — a boring schoolboy from Georgia."

5 million cars by 2030 is impressive, but I’ll be more oppressed if they can build one particular Model Y I have on order within the next week or two.
Here are the most important highlights from @Tesla's Q3 2026 earnings call: • Tesla's 2027 Megapack production capacity is nearly sold out. • Tesla is aiming to produce 5 million vehicles annually by 2030. • Customers are increasingly visiting Tesla showrooms specifically to experience FSD rather than shopping for a particular vehicle model. • Tesla said more than 75% of new North American vehicle deliveries included a paid FSD subscription signup, despite every vehicle already coming with a free one-month trial. • FSD financial disclosure: Tesla plans to disclose additional FSD financial and operating metrics as the business scales, including subscription revenue and churn rates. • Elon said Tesla is hoping for EU-wide FSD approval within a few months and would be surprised if approval takes longer than Q1 2027, although the timing depends on regulators. • Unsupervised FSD for customer vehicles: Tesla expects to enable some customer-owned vehicles to participate in its autonomous Robotaxi network around Q2 2027, subject to fleet-management and geofencing requirements. • Tesla is developing its own AI-based mapping and navigation system that will rely on intelligence gathered from its vehicle fleet rather than traditional third-party mapping systems. The system will support conversational voice commands, personalized routing preferences, improved parking, and more intelligent destination handling. •  Tesla plans to launch Cybercab service in Dallas in November 2026, followed by additional cities. • Tesla plans to progressively extend robotaxi operating hours, with the goal of reaching 24/7 service by the end of 2026. Tesla expects to expand service to highways, higher-speed roads, additional weather conditions, and nighttime operations by the end of 2026. • Elon expects Robotaxi to begin making a noticeable contribution to Tesla's financial results around Q2 2027, potentially becoming a significant business by Q3 or Q4 2027. • Tesla is targeting the first deliveries of Cybercabs to fleet owner customers by the end of 2026, but Elon said the vast majority of Cybercabs will be Tesla-owned and operated as transportation-as-a-service vehicles rather than sold directly to consumers. • Tesla has started early Optimus production. Elon said: "The growth of Optimus is an S curve, but the initial curve is a shallow slope. There's still some things we need to tweak about the design. There's still quite a lot of work to do with the AI in the robot. I would expect that the AI, the electromechanical design, reliability, usage life, expect these issues to be solved by the end of next year." • Elon said most of the equipment for an Optimus production line designed to manufacture approximately 1 million robots annually is already at Fremont. Elon expects it will take at least another year, possibly longer, to reach an annualized production rate of approximately 1 million Optimus robots, equivalent to roughly 20,000 per week. • Elon said Tesla may release a new Optimus V3 demonstration video within one or two months, saying that it should show genuinely AI-driven tasks rather than preprogrammed movements. • Tesla is targeting mid-2027 to integrate its AI5 chip into Optimus. • Management said Optimus production costs are trending toward the expected manufacturing cost of Cybercab, although the robot's design is still being refined. • Tesla hopes to manufacture its first experimental semiconductor chips around May or June 2027. Tesla is targeting useful chip production at volume in Terafab around Q3 2028. • Management expects higher Megapack average selling prices and further improvements in gross margins (currently 33%) as production expands.

Einstein here has discovered the concept of contracted services.
Don't let Elon's bots trick you here. SpaceX engineers and flight controllers run the ground stations, satellite bus software, orbit maintenance, collision avoidance, and network routing infrastructure for Starshield.

"Some U.S. officials say that Musk acted unilaterally and that Trump didn’t specifically order any retribution against Ukraine. But a person familiar with the situation said Musk talked to multiple senior administration officials, including with Trump, before imposing the new speed cap, which Ukrainian officials said had allowed Russian missiles to evade their defenses." Once again, for emphasis: this is Elon Musk unilaterally violating a contract between his company and a paying customer in a mission-critical situation, where lives were at risk and were almost certainly lost as a direct result of his actions, for purely personal reasons that had nothing to do with SpaceX's commercial interests. It's as serious a breach of trust as can possibly be imagined. Who could possibly trust a contract with a Musk-controlled company now?

I spent some time on Community Advocates today. They are being highlighted because David Crowley's wife took a job with them. Shortly after her hiring, the organization's income exploded - in part because of COVID grants from MKE County.

Pure, baseless assertion. Here are two fundamental arguments against communism: Morally: Communism subordinates individual rights and property to collective demands. It treats the individual's productive efforts as something others are entitled to control, replacing voluntary consent with coercion. Practically: Abolishing private ownership of the means of production undermines market prices, economic calculation, competition, and the incentives to produce and innovate. Central planners cannot replicate the decentralized knowledge and decision-making of millions of individuals freely exchanging goods and services. Communism promises prosperity while attacking the institutions that make prosperity possible. It promises liberation while demanding that individuals surrender control over their own productive lives. Declaring that no valid arguments exist against communism is considerably easier than answering them.
If you’re not a communist in 2026, at least admit that you don’t have valid arguments against communism. Only communism has fully explained the modern world and has the answer to its glaring contradictions.

This is why the US has the Electoral College. Low population, high resource states can’t be easily abused by high population, low resource states.
wait what, could someone explain it for my european brain why this is happening
