@celestia is hiring engineers as well, and would be a great fit for engineers coming from Eigen imo

ty for the kind words mr. president

This video is generated by AI. President Trump never made such a statement. The author of this post failed to disclaim it as satire.

The amount of effort the Celestia research team puts into preventing accidentally enabling an AMM on Celestia L1 to keep fees low is fascinating
Some context on @unichain and L2s as it relates to gas markets👇
Apps want low, predictable gas fees
AMMs raise fees (fee floor = lowest profitable arb) and increase volatility (big market movements)
In the future, most apps won’t want to share block space w/ AMMs for this reason, it’s a bit like living with a hoarder
But AMMs are the best way to create onchain liquidity, and many apps will want to tap into them
This is where fast crosschain interop and unichain comes in
Many peoples mental models are a bit broken here because they view chains as having to be general purpose and think the most useful chains should have the most liquidity (some apps certainly will want to collocate w/ trading - just not most)
Also most chain devs WANT AMMs raising their fees bc it’s the thing that makes money today
But this is obviously directly the opposite of what end users and app developers want, which is ultimately more important
Anyways, unichain 🚀

I'm not going to defend fundraising/VC environment between 2019-2024 and I have a lot of issues with how the industry works but I don't think we gave VCs particularly preferential treatment. The facts are:
1) It's easy to think that VCs got an easy ride by getting in at a low price in the seed round, but the reality is it took 6 months and 50+ calls before convincing a single person (@gpl_94, who was a college student who took a call in his dorm room) to commit to the seed round in 2020. Eth was $200 back then and the market was dead.
2) We did one of the best airdrop of the past two years that set the new airdrop meta that bought new life into airdrops (until HYPE raised the bar again), and are one of the only recent projects whose price is higher than TGE. The "stake TIA to earn more airdrop" meta pushed by airdrop influencers however was unfortunate but we never encouraged that or engaged with airdrop farming influencers.
3) There wasn't some conscious decision to allow staking rewards for locked tokens to be unlocked, this is just how it works for all proof of stake chains such as Solana, Sui, Aptos, etc, and is how it works by default in Cosmos staking module code which we didn't touch. If we were launching again today, sure we'd probably change how the default staking module works.
Ultimately all projects have short term ups and downs but I've been in crypto for 13 years and at Celestia for five years now and intend to stick around for many more years, if not decades, as we're all here for the long term. 🤷♂️

come build deranged amounts of verifiable DA
cracked engineers of any background, please dm or apply
must be ok with debugging low level networking issues
preferably you believe in end user verification

A damn cool post by @NashQueue just dropped on the Celestia research forum that would:
1. Make light nodes even lighter by reducing header and sample sizes by 3x and up to 40% respectively
2. Make calculating the data commitments more efficient for full nodes
TL;DR
-- Celestia's block data is committed into namespaced merkle trees (NMT) which enables the generation of inclusion proofs over a specific namespace which is a useful feature for rollups.
-- Unfortunately NMTs come with additional overhead compared to a traditional merkle tree. They are slower to compute and the nodes in the tree are 3x bigger.
-- Nash's insight is that we don't need to commit the whole block as NMTs. Only the original data shares need that, the rest of the erasure coded "parity data" can be committed as vanilla MTs.
-- In addition to that, we only need to commit row roots as NMTs not columns in the 2D square. And we can sample over the normal MT columns which makes the size of sample proofs significantly.
There are many low hanging fruit to make the protocol faster and lighter. We are just getting started

This is incredible. A Celestia light node is running in people's browser when they use the block Explorer.
When fully implemented, this will be the first decentralized explorer will be able to get data from a blockchain in a verifiable way without centralised RPC endpoints!

I was not aware that MEV was leaking to Base. This now begs the question how sophisticated the MEV market is on Base and how transparent they are with it
In theory they could Cex/Dex Arb with themselves. Kind of insane to have sequencing rights for both

Last talk of the day was from @NashQueue about ZK Accounts and how this is gonna Trojan horse tons of other cool features into celestia
I will also give a talk tomorrow at @modular_summit on ZK Accounts. It is mind-blowing what you can achieve with just a tiny primitive. Here is a sneak peak:
