The Bank of Canada hikes its key interest rate to 2.5%, its first increase since July 2023, and warns another hike could follow. Inflation hit 3.2% in September, above the bank’s target range, driven almost entirely by energy costs, according to Reuters.

This morning myself and @bradredekopp unrolled the Conservative Party’s position on immigration levels ahead of the Liberal’s release of the immigration levels plan. Immigration levels must go way down, not up. Here's why. View article

Everything in Toronto is worse than when she took office. Traffic, crime, taxes. All moving in the wrong direction. Enough
This election is a simple choice: Do we keep moving forward together to make life more affordable? Or do we go backwards to cuts? I don't think that's what Toronto wants. I have made my choice. I will keep standing up for families across our city. And I will keep bringing costs down. This race is close. Your vote will decide it. I’m number 9 on the ballot. Let's keep moving forward, together.

B.C. food banks just logged a record number of visits, more than double what they saw before the pandemic. Global, CTV and CBC are all reporting more than 250,000 visits in March alone, up 14% in a year, with tens of thousands of children among them. 🎥🧵👇 (1/5)

Liberal mass immigration has contributed to depressed wages, high rents, and massive healthcare wait times. Conservatives will remove non-citizens who have no legal right to be here.  Conservatives will sharply cut immigration so we can hire, train and house Canadians first.

Wow! Quite the power move.
It cannot be understated: our broken immigration system has caused high unemployment, high home prices and high inflation. It must be fixed and provincial rights strengthened. Today, the Prime Minister got a copy of our referendum questions including the 9 on immigration and constitutional reforms. If Albertans give us a strong mandate on these questions, our government will get right to work on these needed reforms. And as I’ve said many times, please vote for Option 1, a strong Alberta within a united Canada, and yes to the rest! 🍁

The carbon tax was where Trudeau was weakest. It was the policy he least wanted to discuss or reform no matter how unpopular it got. For Carney, this issue is immigration.
