A golf bag used to be such a functional item in my mind. Now it’s a highly personal part of my golfing apparatus. My last golf bag travelled thousands of miles with me and covered hundreds of rounds. I hope my new bag serves me as faithfully. 🤝 #golftwitter @CaddyDaddyGolf

An opening par-3 - Not something relished by many, especially if long and played into the prevailing wind. The 1st @Haylinggolfclub meets all of those criteria and is somehow very welcoming. Maybe it is the sizeable green site. Maybe it is the warm welcome inside.. #golftwitter

Hayling Golf Club 📍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 A rising star of English golf over the past decade, Hayling is now firmly established as one of the finest links in the land. Close enough to London for travelling golfers, with a superb run of holes from 7-13, it belongs on your bucket list #golftwitter

Copt Heath offered another fine showcase of original Colt features on Birmingham’s outskirts. The back nine is particularly rich in his work, made all the more special in the company of Simon Haines, whose knowledge of the club’s history is a real treat. #golftwitter @Hainesy76

Edgbaston GC – A diminutive Harry Colt parkland layout on lively land near the heart of England’s second city. Recent bunker renovations have restored some classic Colt character, while the green sites remain the course’s true defence. #GolfTwitter @Edgbaston_GC

When a logo is just so right. 🤝 Cleeve Hill definitely doing it right in terms of their logo game.. The lone tree sits atop the highest hill in the Cotswolds, indicating the prevailing wind with its angular disposition.. What’s your favourite club logo? #golftwitter

The 12th hole on the Hotchkin at Woodhall Spa is one of the worlds great par-3’s; a do or die hole that raises the heart rate and makes a shot well played an unforgettable experience. It has been likened to the postage stamp but imho it’s much more beastly.. #golftwitter

Fun fact - Charles Mackenzie, the younger brother of Dr. Alister was also a golf architect. Much less prolific + his work didn’t revolutionise golf course design quite like his brothers, but courses like @fulfordgolfclub demonstrate that he shared his brothers eye #golftwitter

My game has been struggling. I ruptured my Achilles in April and my form has suffered since coming back. A lesson with @AlexClappGolf and a putting tip from a friend and today golf felt the easiest thing in the world, culminating in my joint best ever round. Golf 👊 #golftwitter

Having just played the beautiful Reigate Heath today, it had me wondering about my favourite 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 nine hole courses. My top 5 I’ve played would be 1. Royal Worlington 2. Reigate Heath 3. Alnmouth Village 4. Burnham & Berrow Channel 5. Flempton. What have I missed? #golftwitter

Hollinwell - one of the finest inland tests in GB&I. Angles, punitive bunkering, borders of effervescent heather and truly characterful putting surfaces. A real cadence to the round. Plenty of half par holes. What a place 🤝 #golftwitter @Hollinwell

Burnham & Berrow - Channel Course 📍 Another reminder that gems hide in plain sight. Don’t be persuaded that this course is not worthy of your time when compared to its big sibling. To the contrary, many of the challenges mirror the big course in a reduced form. #golftwitter

East Berkshire 📍 - Crafted in 1903 by Peter Paxton. This place is ace. Why I think East Berks is lesser known? The shadow effect - there’s some pretty high ranking neighbours around here. PP’s lack of architectural back catalogue, and the course length (a shorty but a goodie).

I get to call it my second home so I’m biased of course, but there are few treats in golf greater than a twilight loop on the East course @SauntonGolfClub - One of England’s very finest links that always shows off in the lowering light.. #golftwitter

I really enjoyed being able to contribute some content for this article and the process of contributing to the ranking. My takeaway; GB&I is awash with absolutely breathtaking golf courses and we are very lucky to have so much depth of quality on these isles. #golftwitter
This GB&I Top 100 surprised me. I knew there'd be 2 new entries from courses that opened in 2025, but there was more movement in the list than I expected. Key moves for @RCDgolfclub @Royal_Porthcawl @HankleyC @FormbyGolfClub @Rosapenna1893 Next 100 (image 2) is full of class too

Yet another example of Welsh golf offering some real interest and value. @MaestegGolfClub was in the 50’s on our last Welsh Top 80 @TheTodaysGolfer. A James Braid moorland affair of considerable charm 🤝 #golftwitter

An improbable golfing landscape at times, but that is one of the finest charms of this place. Cleeve Hill; a golf course truly like no other. #golftwitter

There have been changes afoot since my last visit to Coxmoor 27 years ago! Creative Golf Design in collaboration with Ben Cumberland the Head Greenkeeper here have delivered a heathland transformation. Add in the new clubhouse and Coxmoor is barely recognisable! #golftwitter – at Sutton in Ashfield, England
