Netflix’s movie program was never good, but the real problem was their sharp decline in original TV — from having 1-2 big new hits per year to 0, for years. Not sure why people are focused on movies as a cure all. And this has all been apparent for years now.
Writing was on the wall in 2023.

It’s the computer chip. You don’t need to move to LA to learn a craft, you can buy a great camera for under 3k and make a film with great lights for under 1k and cut it with free software. It’s DIY film making because of the computer chip. Other factors have accelerated the geographical demise but the ole computer chip is the main reason from my perspective.

October 21, 1975. 51 years ago today, Carlton Fisk hit one of the most iconic home runs of all time. He waved it fair to win Game 6 of the 1975 World Series in the 12th inning for the Red Sox. One of the greatest moments in baseball history.

With the late, great Oliver Reed currently wowing 2026 audiences all over again with his incredible performance in the restored version of Ken Russell’s ‘The Devils’, I wanted to share this amazing clip of him from 1985. The rather low-res clip comes from ‘In at the Deep End’, a BBC series in which presenter Paul Heiney tries his hands at a profession he had zero experience in. For this episode, Heiney was preparing for an acting role opposite Michael Caine in ‘Water’ and went to Oliver Reed for some pointers on how to play a villain. Please enjoy what happens next.

Greta Gerwig said Christianity makes her uncomfortable. Then Netflix gave her a $280 million budget to direct Narnia, an explicitly Christian allegory where Aslan is literally Jesus. She gender-swapped Aslan with Meryl Streep. Made it a rock opera. Changed the timeline. Blew up the pub where Lewis and Tolkien used to meet. Test screenings have been described as disastrous. Netflix fired their head of film and head of content.

Someone sent me a post that said this on it about the murder of Liverpool’s Ken Bigley: “These are the last images of Ken Bigley. Moments before he knew his head was to be hacked off on camera. I was sent the video years ago. Not because of murder porn but as a warning of what will come if we don't stop it. It changed me as a man. Mohammed Yaseem took his time. Smiled at the camera. He took his time removing Kens head while still conscious. Thats the idea. The same as the videos of Jewish women having their breasts cut off and thrown around like a ball as she lays there screaming knowing whats coming next. They kept him in a cage for hours telling him his inevitable fate. Unimaginable cruelty. His crime.... being a westerner. His killer Mohamed Yaseen Mohammed Yaseen is also responsible for setting fire to women and girls in cages for not submitting to Islam. He burned them alive. Laughing and shouting Allahu Akbar. God is great Setting fire to children and women and slowly removing another humans head whilst praising a sky wizard..... Have a wild guess where he lives now???? Windsor. Seen shopping in the Co Op We know he's not working so your paying his rent, utilities and food bill. Our government won't deport him or lock him up. Where's the fuckin morality?” It is truly terrifying what we are allowing our government to do to us.

A French woman says that the rioters and looters broke into her building and threatened her with rape while she was holding her child in her arms. “That’s collateral damage” responds the feminist activist Bettina Zourli who holds a Master’s in gender studies and focuses her work on gender norms, motherhood, reproductive rights, and voluntary childlessness (“childfree”) She describes herself as “feminist, childfree and Antifa” Zourli also says that all the stores getting looted also constitute a case of collateral damage and that the revolution, which she supports, must be violent. She has lectured in gender studies, including at the University of Lille and Université Rennes.

This is the first time I have felt that the best picture should be a doc. Even if you don’t love documentaries you should see it. It’s the first film for several years that I think will be a “classic” film. Kudos to Nathan Fielder and @A24

Fort Hood shooting survivor Alonzo Lunsford says he wants to witness the execution of the man who tried to kill him, Nidal Malik Hasan, who is expected to be executed by firing squad. Lunsford wants to face the terrorist who tried to take his life and deliver one final message: “I am not your victim anymore. I’m a survivor.” A staff sergeant at the time of the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting, Lunsford was shot seven times. He survived, but the attack left him blind in one eye, without half his intestines, and suffering from lasting nerve damage. After everything he has endured, he refuses to let the man who tried to kill him define his life. He is no longer just a victim. He is a survivor.

The biggest jagoff in Chicago sports media never misses an opportunity to demonstrate why he's also one of the biggest pieces of shit walking the earth. Thankfully nearly every reply is rightfully calling him out for his continued hatred and lack of any semblance of class.

Pvt. Francheska Velez, 21, of Chicago, was one of the victims Nidal Hasan murdered at Fort Hood. She was three months pregnant. Her last words were “My baby! My baby!” as the bullets flew. So yes. I cannot wait to watch that POS get executed on a livestream.

This judge released a 16 year old foreigner who raped a girl in Australia because the guy is from Butan and has “limited insight into societal norms.” of Australia. He said the teen used "considerable force" while raping the girl but still suspended his sentence. If they come from a country that doesn't know rape is bad why are they even allowed in? This judge needs to be put behind bars too
