Our next Intern Intro 📸 is Dr. Samantha Draves!
Med school: Creighton University School of Medicine
Big plans before intern year started?
Moved into a townhome with my friends
Fun Fact about you:
I played soccer in college
...and have a great support system and community as a home away from home!
Beach or Mountains, and why: in my hometown we have both, but I do like the beach because you have the ocean, swimming, boating, playing soccer, football or volleyball on the sand are always a good time.
Welcome to UNMC Dr. Draves! 🎉🎉🎉 We are excited to have you here and can't wait for the next few years! #EMbound #emresidency #residencyfam #classof2029
Our next Intern Intro 📸 is Dr. Hoang Nguyen!
Med school: UT Health San Antonio Long SOM
Big plans before intern year started?: I finally got to take a trip to Japan and spent a whole month there after graduating from med school. ⛩️
Why UNMC?: I had a really good experience during interview where the faculty showed genuine care in my success as a person regardless of where I ended up.
Beach or Mountains? Beach because the last time I went to a mountain I spent 3 hours hiking down with no signs or signal.
Welcome to UNMC and our Emergency Medicine family Dr. Nguyen!! 🎉🎉🎉 We are excited to have you here and look forward to some great years! #EMbound #emresidency #residencyfam #classof2029
Our next Intern Intro 📸: Dr. Triston Wilson!
Med school: Saint George University
Big plans? My wife and I went to Greece for two weeks! And then we adopted a Labrador when we got to NE.
Fun fact: I have 7 siblings!
Shoutout: hard to say one person, my wife has helped me through many rough days. My family all together have been important.
Why UNMC: I grew up going to UNMC for stitches and emergencies as a child. It's a full circle moment to come treat people in my shoes back then!
Mountains vs Beach: I love hiking and climbing. When I’m old, my wife & I want to wake up to natural beauty everyday instead of flatlands!
Welcome back to Omaha Dr. Wilson! 🎉🎉🎉 We are thrilled to have you part of the EM crew!! #EMbound #residencylife #classof2029 #emresidency
Why UNMC: A lot of my mentors recommended UNMC. I visited Omaha a lot and it seemed like a great place to live. It has anything you could ask for in a city but it is also very easy to get out of town to be in nature
Beach or Mountains: Mountains! That's where deer & elk are. 🦌
Welcome to UNMC Dr. Donahoe!! 🎉🎉🎉 We are excited to have you join the EM crew and look forward to some great years! #EMbound #emresidency #residencyfam #classof2029
Our next intern welcome spotlight 📸 is Dr. Joshua Donahoe!!!
Med School: University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine
Big plans from this summer: I ran my first marathon and spent a lot of time hanging out with my wife and our pets!
Applications are open for the UNMC EM Medical Education Teaching & Innovation (METI) Fellowship!

Our next Intern Intro 📸 Dr. Austin Boland!!
Med School: University of Missouri - KC
Plans before intern year started? Backpacked Europe, hiked three 14,000ft mountains in the winter, weddings/bachelor parties, in Milan for the Winter Olympics and a World Cup game at Arrowhead
Why UNMC? UNMC lets me train across the full spectrum — academic tertiary care, community, peds, rural — which is exactly the breadth I want heading toward wilderness medicine
Beach or Mountains and why: more spiritually connected to the water, but after challenging adventures in the mountains I feel like I can accomplish anything!
Welcome Dr. Boland!! We re excited to have you join our EM crew! 🎉🎉🎉 #EMbound #emresidency #residencyfam #classof2029
