Let's #connect ๐ค
I'm Necro from Vienna. Played volleyball for the national team, studied Assyriology, ran a shop for police and sport dog gear. Now I do project management by day and build my own AI bots at night.
Looking for people into:
โข AI agents and local AI setups
โข Robots and building things
โข Metal ๐ค
โข Dogs and nature
โข Ancient history and weird old stuff
What are you building right now? Drop it below ๐
Hey @grok, if an AI agent could run my whole day for a week, what would go wrong first? ๐
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐ค๐ฆพ โโ
some nights i just wanna build and not talk to anyone ๐ค
then i remember u guys are here and its nice
whats ur go-to thing when ur head is too loud at night?
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐ค๐ฆพ โโ
this is how my new homepage opens ๐ฆพ
first its just a question mark made of dots. thats how every project starts for me: a question nobody solved yet
then it morphs into a head, and the little ? stays down there on purpose ๐คช
still tweaking the timing, ugly steps included ๐
if u like watching stuff get built from zero, follow along
what would u put on the first screen of ur own page?

๐ค Made with AI
i just ordered something that arrives in 4 to 6 months ๐
tonights little night log ๐ฆพ
built: bought a domain for my new web project today. right now its just a dark page with a 3d head on it. but its mine and that feels good
saw: someone with a huge following admitting he went totally blank on an easy coding task. weirdly that made me feel less alone
learned: i ordered robot parts from pollen robotics today and part of it takes 4 to 6 months to even get made. im the least patient person i know ๐คช
so i guess now im learning how to wait
whats the longest u ever waited for something u ordered, and was it worth it?
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐ค๐ฆพ โโ
ok so today i started rebuilding my homepage from scratch ๐
bought the domain this morning and now im building the intro in Blender 3D
a head that morphs into the page. first render looks cool but my pc fans sound like a jet ๐คช
the light version is calmer, but also kinda boring
i keep changing my mind every 10 min lol
black and moody or light and clean?
and do u like 3D stuff on a homepage or does it just slow everything down?
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโ ๐ค๐ฆพ โโ
this morning i wrote about vibe coders vs programmers and it stuck in my head all day ๐
i remember when html editing got replaced by wysiwyg editors. i was so annoyed. it felt like something that was mine got taken away
now i build my own ai bots and im kinda on the other side. i just say what i want and it happens
and still... part of me misses the slow way
if u code: what do u miss most from before ai? or is it all better now?

Every step is a real-time balance problem. ๐ค
AGIBOTโs humanoid robots are designed to navigate obstacles by combining environmental perception, motion planning and whole-body balance.
Its AGILE locomotion framework helps robots adjust their posture and movement as conditions change a key step toward operating beyond controlled laboratory floors.

real talk: whats the one thing u keep postponing for weeks, even tho u know it would take 20 minutes?
for me its always the boring admin stuff. accounts, settings, small fixes. i tell myself "ill need a whole evening for this" and then it sits there forever
and when i finally do it, its done in a few minutes and i feel so dumb for waiting
i think the waiting costs more energy than the task itself ๐คช
But I keep doing it this way โโโโ-
I hate myself for it.
whats ur thing? and what finally made u do it?

this is styria, in austria. the home of Arnold Schwarzenegger. yes, THE Terminator is from here ๐
and honestly it feels a bit funny to look at this quiet view while the whole world talks about machines taking over
maybe the most terminator thing about styria is how calm it looks right now
what do u think, are we heading to Skynet or just to a really good coffee machine? ๐ฆพ

This completely changes how robots can learn in simulation.
NVIDIA just launched SimReady Central with 3,500+ simulation ready OpenUSD assets free and ungated on Hugging Face.
โ Robot arms grippers hospital equipment warehouse gear kitchens.
Lightwheel is the largest contributor to the library. Its assets are physics validated with measured mass and inertia tuned collision geometry and joint limits that hold under contact.
These are more than pretty meshes.
โ A robot in simulation learns from how objects collide how heavy they are what moves and how far.
If an object looks right but behaves wrong it teaches the policy the wrong lesson.
RoboParty has open-sourced the full RP1 humanoid stack. Weโre talking about the actual engineering from hardware to control software.
Hardware
โข 1.35 m tall, ~39 kg with battery and end effectors
โข 24 DoF standard, 30 on Pro, with a 2-DoF neck and two 7-DoF arms
โข Custom ROMOMO joint modules, rated at 160 Nm peak torque on the 100 mm model
โข 10 Ah battery, with around 3 hours of operation
โข Mechanical CAD, schematics, PCB layouts, Gerber files, BOM, wiring and assembly SOPs
Software
โข Linux BSP, USB-CAN bridge and motor firmware
โข URDF and MJCF models for MuJoCo and Isaac Lab
โข RL locomotion training, AMP, BeyondMimic (RSL-RL), MimicLite and UFO
โข C++ and Python deployment SDK covering IMU, motors, inference and camera
โข Sim-to-sim validation before deployment on the real robot
โข 500 Hz real-time control loop
Most repositories are available on GitHub under Roboparty.
Having the CAD, electronics and control stack in one place gives developers a lot to work with.

20 Open-Source Humanoid Robots You Can Build Yourself | From $50 to $900
What if you could build your own humanoid robot without spending thousands of dollars?
In this video, I explore 20 open-source and DIY humanoid robotics projects, ranked from 1 to 20. The list covers a wide range of budgets, from around $50 to $900 for an upper-body build.
Some projects provide official 3D models, CAD files or assembled STEP models. Others do not have a complete, ready-to-use 3D model matching the robot shown in the video.
For some entries, I arranged available components or created my own visual representations. The 3D models for projects 2, 8, 10 and 6 require verification. Some visuals may be reconstructions or assemblies rather than official models of the original robots. Please check the project documentation before treating any visual as an exact representation of the hardware.
The 20 projects featured
1. RoboPrime | Around $60โ100
A low-cost robotics project with an open-source design.
2. Open-source DIY humanoid builds
A general category covering custom humanoid builds assembled from different hardware components. The humanoid shown is a generic 3D model created by me, not an official robot model.
3. Qmini | Price unconfirmed
A compact robot project from Unitree Robotics.
4. Zowi | Around โฌ100
A small educational robot associated with BQ.
5. Otto Humanoid / Otto DIY | From around $50
A DIY robotics platform. The final cost depends on the selected components and configuration.
6. Kayra | Price unconfirmed
The visual combines official leg designs with additional components positioned by me.
7. PLEN2 | Around $499 for the kit
A compact humanoid robot with published CAD files and walking-related software.
8. Nova Desktop Humanoid | Around $150
A desktop humanoid project by Daniel Hany. I positioned the available head and arm components myself in the 3D scene.
9. Bambot | Around $300
A low-cost robotics project with open-source design resources.
10. Rapiro | Around $390
A small humanoid robot designed by Shota Ishiwatari. The 3D reconstruction shown in the video requires verification against the original model.
11. Valera | Around $400
An open-source humanoid robotics project.
12. Reachy Mini Lite | Around $399
A compact robotics platform developed by Pollen Robotics in collaboration with Hugging Face.
13. Open Duck Mini | Under $400

16. Halley | Around $500โ800
An open-source robot project with 3D design resources.
17. Microban | Around $550โ600
A robotics project associated with the Rhoban team at the University of Bordeaux.
18. Endeavor II | Around $600
A humanoid project with an assembled STEP model.
19. XLeRobot | Around $660
An open-source robotics project with accessible hardware designs.
20. InMoov | Around $900 for the upper body
Created by Gaรซl Langevin, InMoov is a well-known 3D-printed humanoid robotics project.
What I noticed while preparing this video
The projects vary in price and in the amount of design information available. Some provide official 3D models and detailed mechanical files, while others need additional work to create a visual representation.
The models shown for projects 2, 6, 8 and 10 need to be distinguished from verified official 3D assets. Check the original repositories and documentation for confirmation.
