We canât fix the NHS without fixing social care & we canât fix social care without a workforce.
The social care crisis piles pressure onto the NHS and leaves people without support.
A National Care Service is the solution. We canât build one by targeting migrant care workers.
I signed this important letter opposing new oil and gas licences.
Todayâs Jackdaw decision expands costly, insecure energy and boosts fossil fuel profits.
It won't bring down household bills.
The Government must think again before Rosebank.
Donât repeat the same mistake.
Why Young People Should Support the Triple Lock on Pensions
I know young people are angry at the raw deal our country has given them.
Low wages and high rents make getting a start in life feel harder than ever.
Scrapping the Triple Lock on Pensions is not the solution.

Tech Bros Canât Decide Our Future
Growth can't just mean swelling Big Tech profits.
Real progress means higher living standards in harmony with our environment.
Technology is only as good as its owner. Democratic control is key to ensuring innovation serves people & planet.
Iâve tabled a Parliamentary Motion supporting the Triple Lock.
1.9m pensioners live in poverty.
A full pension under ÂŁ13k is NOT a generous reward for a lifetime of work.
Means-testing fails and leaves hundreds of thousands without support.
Back the Triple Lock! đ
We don't ask parents alone to pay for education or the sick to pay for their own healthcare.
We pool costs as a society and we should do the same for a National Care Service.
Asking pensioners to fund care by eroding the State Pension over time isn't fair.
Andy Burnham is right to focus on social care.
People with dementia shouldn't be left to fund support alone.
Fixing care means applying NHS principles: a universal, publicly owned system that is free at the point of use.
âEveryone knows you canât fix the NHS without fixing social care, and you canât fix social care unless you drop the governmentâs current plans on Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and settled status.â

Neil Duncan-Jordan MP retweeted
In his conference speech, Andy Burnham said that crude cuts to welfare are not the Labour way. That we need to invest in people and their success.
Heâs right.
This should mark a reset in our approach to welfare, including to benefits for disabled people.
I recently signed @NeilForPooleâs letter calling for Labour to protect the living standards of disabled people by rejecting poverty-inducing cuts.
This is an opportunity to show disabled people whoâs side weâre on. A return to the Labour way.
Iâve signed a letter alongside the League Against Cruel Sports calling on the Government to strengthen anti-hunting laws.
The animal-loving public expect Labour to deliver on our manifesto pledge to put a stop to the organised cruelty of fox hunting.
John Chapman from Poole was murdered by the Israeli military while working for World Central Kitchen.
The Government must secure justice for John and impose an arms embargo.
We must have no connection with a military that kills aid workers and denies any accountability.
I welcome Andy Burnham dropping plans to curtail jury trials.
This would have been a disaster for our justice system of historic proportions.
@CHinchliffMP and I called for this in Burnhamâs first steps, alongside sanctions on illegal Israeli settlements â and lots more!
Myself and @CHinchliffMP are calling for bold change in Andy Burnhamâs first 100 days.
The clock is ticking on this Labour Government. There is no time to spare.
Hereâs what our Socialism26 platform wants to see đ

I wrote to Andy Burnham with Labour MPs last month warning against disability benefit cuts.
Changing eligibility doesn't change the reality of disability. It just removes support.
Getting your fingers burnt means learning the lesson. We shouldn't repeat Starmer's mistakes.
I chaired a fringe with @CWUnews on their âAI Workersâ Inquiryâ, exploring AIâs impact on work, the risks to workers and how its benefits can be shared fairly.
I'm looking forward to bringing these points back with me to inform my ongoing work on 'AI for the people'.
Iâm standing with social care workers.
We canât fix our NHS without fixing social care and we canât fix social care without care workers.
Junk these plans, now!
