Hard to take this in. What a sad day for RTÉ. Two great broadcasters have passed away -Michéal O Muircheartaigh and Tommie Gorman. Lucky to have them as colleagues. Two remarkable men who lived life to the full, and whose achievements should be celebrated. Rest Peacefully lads.

As a teenager the job I wanted most in the world was to be part of Steve Wright's posse. He made radio seem so joyous. What terribly sad news, and what a brilliant broadcaster he was.

I’m so sorry and sad to hear about the brilliant Steve Wright. He was a Happy Mondays favourite from the 80s, making us all laugh while we drove around Manchester on the dole.

This VAR decision in Ligue 1 has been broadcast with total transparency and clarity over the decision making process for those watching. It’s a real breath of fresh air compared to the radio silence you get in the English game.

Definitely worth a watch, Ronan O’Gara giving the most Irish team talk while actually speaking French. #rugby

Great legacy. Some really beautiful songs in there. 🎶
Gordon Lightfoot has died aged 84. The Canadian songwriter's remarkable legacy of songs includes Sundown, Rainy Day People, Early Morning Rain, Daylight Katy, If You Could Read My Mind, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald & more. We'll remember him tonight on RTE Radio1 from 8pm.

A great professional, a pleasure to deal with. Forthright & honest in his opinions, called a spade a spade & leaves a lasting legacy. He made an immense contribution to @RTEsport coverage & that continues with the next generation. Loved having him & he will be missed. Thanks Ted
Truly the end of an era as Ted Walsh announces his retirement from racing punditry. Good luck Ted #RTEracing
