FACTCHECK: UK Conservatives double the ‘cost of net-zero’ after spreadsheet blunder
The Tory "Right Way" booklet makes an erroneous claim about the cost of cutting emissions, possibly taken from a Jan26 thinktank report, and deffo the most idiotic error I've seen for a while 🧵

37% of new trucks sold in China are now electric. They’re not little vans - they’re 49 tons. Unaffected by diesel prices. Simply not held back by the fossil fuel lobby.

So we are turning off wind turbines because The Conservatives failed to build the required grid for the wind turbines they installed and their proposals are to massively reduce the investment in grid to retain this curtailment problem long term.
Absolute Madness.

I was asked by a colleague from my oil & gas days (who has remained in the industry) why UK producing its own gas is less acceptable to the Greens (& others) than importing it from America and West Africa.' The full question & my reply is now online at: climateuncensored.com/there-…

Nothing screams ‘anti establishment’ like eating oysters whilst discussing a half a million quid donation that your advisors spent hours in Mayfair’s most exclusive clubs negotiating.
These ‘men of the people’ are laughing at their supporters. It’s all a con and always was.

Every time I watch Richard Tice talking about climate change I think of Aaron Eckhart's character in 'Thank you for smoking' - in that case sowing the seed of doubt that smoking might not cause cancer

Two of the core tenets of rewilding are:
– rewetting the landscape; rewiggling streams and rivers, reconnecting them with their floodplains, restoring wetlands and ponds, and generally hold back water in the land;
– restoring extensive grazing and browsing by native herbivores such as hardy cattle and wild ponies.
Both of those things play a big role in reducing the likelihood and intensity of wildfire.
This is utter nonsense in the Daily Mail. The exact opposite is true.

The world will continue to warm and extremes of heat, etc will continue to get worse until we reach net zero. "It requires dedicated ideological belief to argue against the scientific evidence that net zero is needed to stop ever more expensive and destructive warming"

Never forget that the clowns who are currently saying “we can’t stop climate change, just accept it” are the same people who spent the last decade doing everything possible to prevent us from stopping climate change.
"As long as our society is organised around burning fossil fuels, Earth’s climate will continue to warm+the wildfires will continue to get worse. Achieving net zero is the only way to do that. Politicians who say otherwise might as well hand out matches." newscientist.com/article/258…
