Derek Carr says he would have signed a waiver on his injury guarantees just to play his final two Raiders games, even if they were letting him go
“If they put me out there, I would have signed a waiver. I would have done anything just to say I don’t care about any of that. Just let me play these last two games…”
He was willing to accept the goodbye. What hurt was losing the chance to finish with the guys he’d put all that work in with.
Bro. Since 8 am my neighbor has been blasting Spanish Music. Either someone fucked his wife or his in laws are coming and it has to be spotless.
Hey @JasonKelce I would appreciate for the next YouTube video thumbnail it wasn't some Sumo Wrestlers asshole right in our face boss lol
Making shows like Crystal Lake and Rings of Power to "humanize" the big bad evil is peak Hollywood slop. Some things are just evil.

Paul saw the consequences of the path ahead and couldn't bring himself to see it through, he didn't have the balls. Leto II accepted it because he understood what was at stake: humanity's long-term survival, not the preservation of EVERY individual life at ANY cost.
Herbert was exploring the conflict between individual morality and the survival of an entire species. Humanity's attachment to familiar systems, comfortable beliefs, and predictable patterns make it vulnerable to stagnation and extinction, a problem that's just as relevant today. The Jihad and the Golden Path confront that problem on different scales.
A controlled culling of humanity to cut the dead weight and keep the species moving forward. We honestly need that now.
"And thus did Melkor breed the hideous race of the Orcs in envy and mockery of the Elves, of whom they were afterwards the bitterest foes." -The Silmarillion, Chapter III (Of the coming of the Elves and the captivity of Melkor)
"With them they brought Gelmir son of Guilin, that lord of Nargothrond whom they had captured in the Bragollach; and they had blinded him. Then the heralds of Angband showed him forth crying: 'We have many more such at home, but you must make haste if you would find them; for we shall deal with them all when we return even so.' And they hewed off Gelmir's hands and feet, and his head last, within sight of the Elves, and left him." - Of the Fifth Battle
"For the Men of Brethil had waylaid at the Crossing of Teiglin the Orc-host that led the captives of Nargothrond, hoping to rescue them; but the orcs had at once cruelly slain their prisoners, and Finduilas (Orodreth's daughter) they pinned to a tree with a spear." - Of Turin Turambar
"But at last Haldad was slain in a sortie against the orcs; and Haldar, who rushed out to save his father's body from their butchery, was hewn down beside him." - Of the coming of Men into the West
The orcs are, in fact, rampaging monsters, and this attempt at subversion of the canon by the showrunners is particularly grotesque.

To watch something you love so dearly be ruined and perverted my some egotistical Frenchman really does hurt the heart, I wish more denisheads understood what it’s like

Herbert was also high on drugs and not in a sound mind when writing Dune: Messiah. The simple fact his he didn't understand his own book when writing it, and clearly went back on Messiah's themes because the rest of the books say Paul and Leto II are justified.
I'm so happy the Europeans and Streamers got their names saved @Warcraft appreciate it. Now I wont get to keep Dale Earnhardt

Dune: Part Three | Official Final Trailer
Paul was a man that became a God and was given an unfathomable task. He did not have the stomach to live with the guilt of genociding most of the known worlds. He was brought up to be kind, fearless but to always do the right thing. He did run away into the desert and forced his son to follow the Golden Path. Without the Golden Path everyone diez, Following the Golden Path means at least humanity can be rebuilt. Paul at his core was just a man, his Children were born Gods. He is the Hero turned Villian but he's not a dipshit. Chani is now a wasted Femboss character.

Just saw the Dune 3 trailer... I recognize elements from Dune: Messiah. But the central conflict of the entire trailer (and apparently the movie?) is nowhere to be found in the books. I understand and appreciate a wide range of adaptation choices, but this seems to be quite the departure.
While I'm Duneposting, I'm gonna say something a lot of post-COVID Dune 'fans' don't want to hear:
Chani's rewrites in the new Dune movies don't make Paul the bad guy. Nothing about Paul's motivations or the enemies he fights changed, nor did anything about the existential threats mankind faces in the novels for which the Golden Path is necessary.
Paul still overthrows a corrupt empire. He's still opposed by degenerate pedophile cannibals. The Fremen people were still oppressed and lead to freedom by Paul. He's objectively a morally righteous hero. The Landsraad refusing to accept his rule necessitates the war, and his slaughter of his enemies is entirely justified.
Chani being against this doesn't make her the good guy who recognizes Paul has fallen. It turns her from his strongest supporter in the novels to a bitter malcontent who refuses to accept change and her people's freedom. Who would turn on her lover for her own selfish desires and views rather than embracing the bigger picture like she does in the novels.
Villeneuve claimed it made Chani the real hero, but he turned her into a villain. Though honestly, such a character is a perfect role for Zendaya. It fits her personality.
