I find some people’s concept of a “collab” funny. 😂 Someone does a collab with you, posts the content, and doesn’t even mention you. Then, when YOU post it, you tag them, give them credit, promote them… and they don’t RT it, don’t comment, don’t interact, don’t do absolutely anything to help with engagement. So I ask: what kind of collab is that? Because, to me, a collab is a partnership. It’s an exchange. It’s not just about appearing in each other’s content and then leaving each person to fend for themselves afterward. Of course, nobody is obligated to promote anything. But if you agreed to collaborate with someone, a minimum level of reciprocity is part of it. An RT, a comment, some interaction — it literally takes seconds and helps both people’s work. Personally, I think it’s in very poor taste to do a collab and then act as if the other person’s content has nothing to do with you. A partnership that only works one way isn’t a partnership. 🤷🏽‍♂️
