60 Minutes wants you outraged that Trump deported a man with a final removal order from 2012.
The real scandal is that it took 14 years. Withholding of removal only bars deportation to one country, yet only 1.6% of recipients ever leave - even though they have a final order of removal.
I explained how this functions as backdoor amnesty at Natcon last year. This is the same loophole that the Maryland Man, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, exploited.
Thankfully, Trump is finally ending it.

拒绝“和事佬”：前阵子艾玛·沃特森在播客里试图和解，说什么“爱与支持不代表不珍惜乔”、“事情不是非黑即白”。罗琳反手就是一篇七百字长文回怼，痛批对方含着金汤匙长大，永远不用去避难所、不用住男女混住病房，连上厕所都有保镖守着，根本不懂人间疾苦，现在的示好不过是因为公开谴责她已经不时髦了。
现在BBC正给她拍“崛起与陨落”的纪录片，新版电视剧也有导演因为她弃导。但罗琳显然已经彻底告别了童话里的魔法妈妈形象，选择自己站在风暴中心死磕到底。

What Israel did in Gaza may well go down in history as the most humane and precise urban warfare environment the world has ever known—the very opposite of genocide.
The entire purpose of a genocide is to push civilians into the killing zone.
Think about what happened in the Holocaust, where children in line at Auschwitz were given bars of soap, where inside of the gas chambers there were fake shower heads.
What was the point?
It was to trick and induce civilians to get in to the killing zone so that you could kill more of them more efficiently over time.
Israel has done the very opposite—warning civilians and then manning humanitarian corridors with its own soldiers, risking its own sons’ and daughters’ lives to ensure that civilians get out of the killing zone.
We see two remarkable things in Gaza.
First, according to preeminent urban warfare scholars like John Spencer, Richard Kemp, and Andrew Fox, Israel has the lowest militant-to-civilian kill ratio in the history of urban warfare.
Genocides have extreme civilian-to-militant kill ratios. Hundred, thousand, ten thousand-to-one. That’s the point of a genocide.
Here we have a militant-to-civilian kill ratio of may be two-to-one—not consistent not just with law of war violations—but much less with genocide.
Second, and more importantly, all genocidal regimes get better over time at killing civilians.
Again, think about the Holocaust. The Nazis started with firing squads killing 20, 30, 50 people at a time and realized that was too inefficient. Then they got these vans and filled them with exhaust pipes, and they would kill more people. And they said, “We’re never going to get to six million killing them this way.” That led them to construct these massive gas chambers and crematoria—the architecture of true genocide—to kill thousands and thousands of people cheaply and efficiently a day.
Israel has done the opposite.
Even if you believe Hamas’ numbers, the scale of civilian death in Gaza went down over time. Israel got better and better and spent hundreds of millions of shekels learning how to become more efficient at preserving innocent Palestinians’ lives.
Again, the very opposite of genocide.

If you ever go to Monticello be prepared to listen to the America-despising and Jefferson-hating guides ram the world “enslaved” down your throat 500 times. They are obsessed with slavery, and they want you to be, too. They want you to hate Jefferson. Seriously. They really do.
By the time you leave, you’ll forget Thomas Jefferson ever lived there because they want to you think non-stop about slavery.
They want your visit to Monticello to be a cosplay of the TV series ROOTS.
This is one of the cabins that some of his slaves lived in. I don’t want to make light of slavery - and I’m not. But …
The weather in that area is beautiful most of the year.
The slaves lived around the gardens with incredible views in every direction.
They ate fresh fruit and vegetables and anything else Jefferson ate.
For the most part, they lived and worked with no supervision. In fact, many were on another area of the mountain.
Many were well-educated and skilled. They could have easily walked off the mountain and toward Pennsylvania. It would have taken about 10-15 days to get there. Who would have stopped hundreds of slaves walking together?
Monticello wants you to be horrified by this cabin. Well, the jokes on them, I think.
All things considered, being the 1700s and all, these were really nice digs. In fact, plenty of people then and now could only hope to live in a nice cabin like this in a beautiful and peaceful setting.
No one wants to be enslaved. I get that. My point is, life at Monticello was not ROOTS. But unfortunately, that’s what the people running the estate want you to believe. It’s part of a plan to destroy American heroes. They want you to be ashamed of the Founding Fathers. Don’t be. They were absolute heroes in every sense of the word.
Thomas Jefferson was a hero. It would be great if the people running Monticello treated him as such. It’s too bad it can’t be owned by the U.S. government and operated by the National Park Service.
Monticello and Thomas Jefferson deserve that.

"I was a low-followed and deaf nobody." She has never been a "nobody" to me nor to God.
And including her mother in her acknowledgments meant more to me than any other part of the book. It's silly, but IYKYK!

He also praised the teacher for grabbing the gunman's weapon, allowing him to take a shot at the shooter.
