Our latest research is now out in @PNASNexus!! We show the importance of DYN-1 proteins for rapid neuronal repair after injury. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work from @TarikaVR and Sam Dhananjay, and a wonderful collaboration with @hoxueyan and the @HilliardLab
A study in C. elegans suggests a role for dynamin protein DYN-1 in axonal repair. Without DYN-1, over half of the severed axons could not repair themselves. In PNAS Nexus: ow.ly/YMip50OjV1w

Very happy to share our research on the important role of the MEC-17/ATAT1 and ATAT2 proteins in maintaining the synaptic connections between neurons. Great collab between us @NeumannLab, @RogerPocockMelb and @WormlockHolmes rdcu.be/cTVSO

Sure is! Well worth a listen. Hoping Scott Morrison was actually listening too

Want to know why 'basic' or 'fundamental' science is so important? And how tiny worms can contribute to our understanding of our own brains? Check out this podcast by @QldBrainInst with @HilliardLab and @ZurynLab play.acast.com/s/agreymatter… via @acast

Yes! Mostly those pesky rodents, but never C. elegans of course

Looks like there's a problem with the link (thanks @alepid!) - try this one instead: fasebj.org/doi/10.1096/fj.20…

Together with @HilliardLab we wrote a perspective article on axonal fusion - a highly efficient mechanism of nervous system repair. Check it out in the @FASEBJournal Axonal repair by fusion: pitfalls, consequences and solutions | The FASEB Journal www-fasebj-org.ezproxy.lib.m…

Awesome!! Congrats Tarika! Very proud, but sad that I couldn't be there to see you smashing it
I won something for something I didn't think I'd ever win. I guess that's what growth is! #phdlife
