Not only has he crashed and burned to only six seats, but he achieved the opposite of his bombastic rhetoric and inspired the highest voting turnout among Israeli Arabs since 1948.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party claims the election was “stolen” by Arab parties and is calling on police to investigate alleged voter fraud.
With 93% of the vote counted, Netanyahu’s bloc has 53 seats, well short of the 61 needed to form a government, down from the 68 seats his coalition held before the election. Arab parties have nearly doubled their representation, jumping from 10 seats to 19.

Ukrainian publishing house KSD has released video showing the destruction of its warehouse after a Russian attack on October 27.
According to KSD, approximately 300,000 books were housed at the site. The extent of the salvagable stock is still unknown, as heavy smoke damaged even the copies left untouched by flames and water.
Russia has been burning Ukrainian books, banning our language, repressing and executing writers for centuries in attempts to erase our culture and language.

The Kremlin chief said Russia maintains contact with Musk on low-Earth orbit satellite constellations, despite political disagreements.
Earlier, Musk admitted that he had restricted Starlink services for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, fearing that Putin would retaliate by shooting down his satellites in response to Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.

Eine der Prognosen von Barrons ist, dass Trump in der Zollpolitik aggressiver sein wird, weil er sonst in seinen Möglichkeiten eingeschränkter ist und einfach seine Macht zeigen muss. Ansonsten wird es für Krypto, wo Trump 1 Mrd letztes Jahr verdiente schwieriger werden, Gesetze werden laut Barrons eher zurückgenommen werden. Trump hatte die Notwendigkeit von Sicherungen bei den US Banken reduziert, auch hier wird es Änderungen geben.
Die Staatsverschuldung wird nach den Midterms so weiter wachsen wie bisher.

African nationals captured fighting for Russia in Ukraine are appealing to participants at the Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled to take place in Moscow on October 28-29, to help secure their release.
"We have been in captivity for quite a long time, and it feels as though we've been forgotten. I hope our governments will represent us at the summit and help secure a prisoner exchange," says a citizen of Botswana.
According to the I Want to Live* project, people from 59 countries, including 18 in Africa, have been taken prisoner by Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
During this time, Russia has not taken back a single African national through a prisoner exchange.
*I Want to Live is a Ukrainian project of the Coordination Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War, established with the support of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. It is intended for servicemen of the Russian armed forces willing to voluntarily surrender into captivity.

@domhauschild visited a Ukrainian POW camp where foreign prisoners who fought for Russia are staying and wrote about it for The Times. There are about 1,000 people there from 20 different countries; most from Africa, some from South America and Central Europe. There are two North Korean prisoners of war.
Most recruits from Africa tell a similar story: they saw an ad promising a civilian job in Russia and offering a lot of money. They would agree because they felt they needed to provide for their families. Russia would pay for their flight, then they would be locked down, forced to sign a contract in Russian that they couldn't understand, and be sent to the frontlines. A lot of them shared that they were forced to do the most dangerous jobs and their lives were worth nothing to Russian commanders.
It is unclear what will happen to them: most don't want to return to Russia and see it as dangerous. Ukraine cannot accept them. Many governments view fighting for another country as illegal.
Russia has ruined their lives, and, undoubtedly, many more have been killed on the battlefield.
Russia has recruited about 30,000 fighters from 44 nationalities, thousands of them from Africa.
