On 11 July, we remember.
We remember the more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys murdered in the Srebrenica genocide. We honour survivors, victims’ families and the Mothers of Srebrenica, and we stand against anti-Muslim hatred, dehumanisation, division, and genocide denial.
Srebrenica must never be forgotten.
We’ll never forget.

Today marks 31 years since the Srebrenica genocide.
In July 1995, 8,372 Bosniak Muslim men and boys were murdered. Thirty-one years later, mothers are still burying their sons.
The rhetoric may sound familiar in today's media & politics: "If you assimilate, you'll be fine. If you keep your head down, you'll be fine." Srebrenica stands as a devastating reminder that this is not always true.
At the execution sites, nobody asked who was religious and who was not. The only thing "Muslim" about them was their name and their name alone was enough to mark them for death.
We remember Srebrenica. We remember the victims. Never again means never again.

Today we remember the 8000 men and boys murdered in the Srebrenica genocide. They were killed because of their ethnicity and religion in one of the darkest chapters of the Bosnian war 30 years ago.
My thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones, who still carry the memory of that terrible time.
