The Women’s leadership is more than a conversation about representation. It is about who shapes public policy, who helps resolve conflict, and who gets heard when decisions affect entire communities.
The UN Secretary General recently emphasized women’s role in building just and lasting peace.
But the question is this: are women simply being included in the conversation, or are they being given the power to influence the outcome?
Because meaningful equality requires more than a seat at the table. It requires a voice that matters.”
Next Generation Action Network (NGAN) retweeted
Next Generation Action Network mourns the passing of Dolores Huerta, a fearless Latina labor leader and civil rights icon who turned “Sí, se puede” into a call heard around the world. As co-founder of the United Farm Workers, she helped farmworkers win better wages and working conditions while championing women, immigrants, and communities denied justice.
She reminded us that the hands that feed this nation deserve dignity and that organized people can confront powerful systems. We honor her by continuing the work, standing together, and refusing to surrender our rights.
Rest in power, Dolores Huerta. Your fight lives on in us. ¡Sí, se puede!

Dallas has a housing affordability problem that deserves our attention.
A 2026 report on the city’s housing crisis found that Dallas had a shortage of approximately 46,000 rental homes affordable to very low-income households, based on 2023 data.
Half of Dallas renters were spending more than 30% of their income on housing.
When rent takes that much, what remains for food, healthcare, childcare and savings?
Housing is more than a monthly bill. It’s an issue of economic justice and public policy.
The question is: what should local leaders do to make housing more affordable?”

A family's search for answers should never fade into the background.
This Sunday, November 1, join the community at Harwood Park in Dallas for the Justice for Nolan Wells rally. Stand for transparency, accountability, and a family that deserves answers.
Koran Irvine, 46, a husband, father of two and Con Edison worker, was fatally shot on the George Washington Bridge on Oct. 20, 2026, after what prosecutors describe as a driving dispute that escalated into gunfire.
Retired NYPD detective Victor Romero was initially charged with first degree manslaughter before a grand jury indicted him on second degree murder charges on Oct. 27. Prosecutors allege that a near collision was followed by Romero tailgating Irvine, pulling alongside his vehicle and firing a shot.
An indictment is not a conviction. Romero is entitled to due process and a fair trial, and the allegations must be tested in court. At the same time, Irvine’s family deserves transparency, accountability and a full accounting of what happened.
Accountability must never depend on a person’s former title or position.
Released 911 audio captures a league official asking police to respond quickly and remove the child’s mother. The dispute followed disagreements over the child’s participation in the game.
The family says the child was being pushed out because of his soccer ability. The league official, however, alleged that the child pushed other players and that his parents argued over playing time decisions.
Police classified the incident as a civil matter. No one was arrested, trespassed or forced to leave the park. The league says it has begun reviewing the situation.
They made the journey. But their determination should not distract us from the bigger question: what happens to students who cannot make that walk because of disabilities, work schedules, transportation costs, or other responsibilities?
Access to the ballot affects real people with real constraints. This story is about more than the students who made it to the polls. It is also about the eligible voters who may be left behind when access becomes more difficult.
We should celebrate civic participation while asking the hard questions about the barriers people face.
What should colleges and election officials consider when making voting accessible to students?

A federal appeals court has rejected the Trump administration’s emergency attempt to block California from counting certain mail ballots tied to registered voters alleged by federal officials to be likely noncitizens.
The legal fight is a reminder that election policies have real consequences. Every eligible voter deserves a fair opportunity to participate, and every election process deserves transparency.
The right to vote must be protected.
Governor Greg Abbott’s $40 million teacher workforce announcement comes just days before Election Day. Our teachers deserve sustained investment that lasts long after the campaign cameras leave. (ow.ly/jplL5101pJy)
Governor, if you are serious about supporting public education, meaningfully increase Texas’ basic per-student allotment and give schools the resources to pay educators fairly and meet every child’s needs. Celebrating targeted funding while failing to address the deeper funding crisis is hypocrisy—and disrespectful to teachers holding our classrooms together.
Our children’s education is a civil rights issue. Our teachers are not campaign props. Texans are paying attention, and an election-season headline is no substitute for lasting investment.

With Election Day on November 3 just around the corner, every eligible voter has a role to play in shaping the state's future.
From voting rights to public accountability, the decisions made at the ballot box matter. Don't let others decide what your future looks like.

A sheriff, DA, judge, city council, county commissioners, and governor do not hold the same power.
One oversees county law enforcement. Another makes prosecution decisions. Others shape court rulings, local budgets, or state policy.
Know the office. Understand its limits, Demand accountability.
A disability should never mean a barrier to your ballot.
Eligible voters with disabilities have rights, including access to accessible voting equipment, assistance from a person of their choice, and curbside voting where available.
Know your rights. Demand equal access. Protect every voice.

A constitutional right means little if there is no meaningful remedy when it is violated.
H.R. 10826 would let U.S. citizens sue covered immigration enforcement officers and the federal government over arrests or detentions without a warrant or probable cause.
Introduced Oct. 15, referred to House Judiciary. It is not law yet.
Will Congress advance it?

When a life is lost and questions remain, the demand for answers must not fade with the news cycle. The call for justice for Nolan Wells is a call to take transparency seriously and ensure that concerns are addressed through a fair, evidence-based process.
NGAN invites the Dallas community to stand in solidarity on November 1.

Justice requires that we keep asking the difficult questions.
A ballot should reflect a voter’s choice not someone else’s pressure.
When intimidation enters the polling process, public trust suffers. Election spaces must allow people to make their decisions independently, without being pressured or made to feel unsafe.
Democracy requires participation without fear.
Body cameras can document an encounter, but they cannot guarantee accountability.
Clear activation rules, preserved footage, impartial investigations, public transparency, and consequences when misconduct is proven are essential.
Recording is a tool. Accountability is a responsibility.

We remember #EndSARS with grief and resolve, the lives lost, the families still waiting for answers, and the young Nigerians who bravely demanded an end to police brutality.
Dignity. Safety. Accountability. These are not privileges, they are fundamental human rights.
Justice requires more than remembrance. It demands urgent, transparent investigations, meaningful reform, and consequences for proven abuses.
We must not look away. We must not forget. We must continue to stand with those seeking truth, justice, and a safer future.
END SARS: A CALL FOR JUSTICE THAT MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
On October 2020, young Nigerians took to the streets to demand an end to police brutality and abuse of power.
The events at the Lekki Toll Gate remain a painful reminder of what happens when citizens’ rights and safety are disregarded.
We remember those lost, those injured, the families still seeking answers, and everyone who stood for a safer society.
Dignity is a right. Safety is a duty. Accountability is essential.
Justice demands transparency, consequences for abuse, and meaningful protection of human rights.
Six years later, the message remains clear: the pursuit of justice must continue.
We remember. We honor the courage. We demand accountability.

Nolan Wells’ death remains a source of questions for his family after a grand jury declined to indict anyone. Karmelo Anthony was convicted of murder, and his request for a new trial was denied.
Different cases. Different legal circumstances.
Both demand responsible discussion grounded in facts, due process and accountability, not speculation or harassment.
