John Anderson wrote "Seminole Wind" about the Florida he grew up in-Apopka orange groves, the Everglades, Lake Okeechobee, and the old stories of Osceola. It's not just a pretty country song.
It's him watching the swamps get drained and the land change, and still feeling the pull of that place anyway.
The wind in the chorus isn't just weather.
It's the idea that the old Florida is still moving through the new one, even if most people can't see it anymore. Anderson carried that with him the rest of his career.
The song stayed regional in the best way, and native Floridians have treated it like an unofficial anthem for decades.

The New York Times just dropped the receipts: Peltola’s campaign and Democrat operatives ran a secret operation to find and recruit a FAKE Dan Sullivan, put him on the Alaska ballot, and confuse voters into splitting the Republican vote.
Her own former campaign manager admitted she was “definitely aware.”
They hunted down a namesake, planted him, then lied about it. That’s election fraud. That’s perjury.

Our sheriffs are sounding the alarm, and Governor Healey needs to listen.
When 12 of our 14 sheriffs raise serious concerns about legislation that will impact public safety, those warnings should not be ignored. These are the professionals on the front lines who understand the challenges of keeping our communities safe.
When individuals charged with serious violent crimes can be released without advance notification to federal authorities, we need to examine whether the law is putting public safety at risk. This should not be a partisan issue, and Governor Healey and state lawmakers need to listen to our sheriffs and work with them to address these concerns before creating potential gaps in public safety.
As governor, I will lower the temperature, work closely with our sheriffs, police chiefs, and law enforcement professionals to strengthen cooperation and put the safety of Massachusetts residents first.
