Ronnie O’Sullivan: “If Mark Selby is struggling mentally and I’m struggling mentally and John Higgins is struggling mentally then the other 124 players will 1 million percent be struggling.”
The brilliant @MackiePhotos was covering this game, but this pic was still the best one of the day. 😂

Someone has created a companion app for Football Manager that lets you spend your wages! 🤯
It lets you pay tax, buy a house, invest, get married, have kids and basically live your manager's life outside the dugout...
One of the coolest projects I've seen. Fair play 👏

To be clear: Whether it is or isn’t a red to Balogun is now irrelevant. Government interference is a violation of FIFA Article 2 & 15, and the punishment is disqualification and suspension. Nepal was suspended.
This is an admission of the violation.
Trump on World Cup: Trump: All I did was ask for a review because I didn’t think it was a foul.
And I think it would have been terrible if they wouldn’t allow, you know, a top player—maybe the best, maybe among the best players on the team—to play. I think it would have had a big stain,
How would you feel if we took Messi out? You know, “Messi, you ran into somebody.” Or we took Ronaldo out. “Ronaldo, you bumped into somebody. We’re going to take you out of the game.” Or Harry Kane. “Harry Kane, we’re going to take you out of the game, Harry, because you happened to hit somebody a little bit harder.”
You can’t do that. If you would have taken him out, I think it would have really stained this incredible championship.
We’ve got to have our best players, and Belgium has a great team, by the way. We have to have our best players, and they have to have their best players. If we win or we lose, it’s fair. Otherwise, let’s say we lost him and we lose the game—it would be a terrible thing.
So I think they made a really brilliant decision. I think the referee’s call was horrible, and nobody talks about that. They talk about the red card like it’s fine. Nobody talks about the referee’s decision to issue the red card.
I didn’t know what the hell a red card was. When I found out, I said, “You’ve got to be kidding.” This guy just holds it up: “OK, your best player is not going to play in the next game.”
I said, “Wow, that’s a lot of power. That’s terrible.”
But then I looked at his past, and it wasn’t so great.
All the nations who have held major tournaments - some with very questionable regimes - and we’ve never had shenanigans as blatant as this. I fear we may be sleepwalking into disaster for the latter rounds here…
🚨 Folarin Balogun is eligible to play against Belgium.
FIFA sources had insisted US Soccer had no appeal. Sources say US Soccer did not attempt one as a result.
And Balogun had spoken on Monday here in Seattle about missing the game telling us, “I have to accept it…”
Yet FIFA have decided to hand Balogun a suspended one-game ban, which is in their powers as per Article 27. The red card stands but Balogun is free to play.
Cristiano Ronaldo also given a suspended ban before the tournament allowing him to play Portugal’s opening World Cup games.
Watching that Norway masterclass tonight, I hope they go the whole way now. Amazing from the whole team, but Haaland is world class. His calmness and serenity just spreads through the entire side. So good to watch.

I’m on the lookout for some help with researching some Scottish teams for the next Football Manager. Clubs from the top two divisions are Celtic, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park. Some L1 and L2 sides too. Read more about what’s involved at community.sports-interactive…

I know this is dumb. But as a Bostonian, I feel like the Tartan Army is cheating on us. I know they are free to see other cities, but they said they love us the most. Were they just love bombing us? Hopefully this time away will make them realize what they are missing.

We were honoured to receive this parting letter from @RedSox President, Sam Kennedy, following our stay in Boston.

About to captain Scotland in the World Cup, in the midst of a huge move to Spurs and he still finds the time to send school kids a good luck message. A proper legend is Andy Robertson.
