NEW: A Florida prosecutor bolstered a 'weak' murder case by using a witness who had given false testimony in a previous murder trial, and three jailhouse informants.
Two informants have now admitted their testimony that sent a man to Death Row was false.

Oh good. The federal agents who showed up at a Florida early voting site were apparently hoping to vote, except THEY WEREN'T REGISTERED TO VOTE IN THAT COUNTY AND DIDN'T REALIZE THEY COULDN'T VOTE THERE.

In February, a federal judge blocked third-country deportations.
But @TheFloridaTrib found the ruling did not stop ICE from attempting to take people to the border without notice while the judicial block was in effect.

The Florida Bar has concluded its internal investigation into the direct messages sent from Kade McLendon’s Instagram account to Damon Wilson. Those messages were reprehensible and inconsistent with the mission, values, and policies of The Florida Bar. While McLendon denies sending the messages, he did not provide evidence sufficient to demonstrate to The Florida Bar’s satisfaction that his Instagram account had been compromised. As of today, The Florida Bar has terminated McLendon’s employment.

About two hours after publication, DeSantis withdrew the death warrant for William Lee Thompson. DeSantis’s order does not say why — but as we reported earlier, the results of the competency panel had not been publicly released.

John Lay, the statewide medical director for Centurion Fla says Thompson is "receiving infirmary-level care at FSP, at the same level of care he received at the Union Correctional Institution" where he was before Gov. DeSantis signed his death warrant.

Thompson was evaluated yesterday by a panel that will determine if he's competent to be executed. His execution is scheduled for 6 pm on Oct 13. If he is executed, he will be the second man put to death by the state that day.
