Buckle in, this is a long one… Where do I start? What a magical season this was for the @EAMaddenNFL_MCS . I would say the last 2 months of Madden is the best I’ve ever gotten to watch and call. The talent of these players is so immense and watching them grow and thrive continues to be a joy. A few thank yous. To my guy @OneGreatUser , you’re my brudda. We said at the beginning of this year “you and me” and we did it. Just wish @tdavisbrand was there too, but he texted us before every show. Couldn’t do any of this without you guys. @Skimbooo23 thanks for lending your knowledge to the booth multiple times this year. Your knowledge of the game never ceases to amaze me. @MasterTes I said it yesterday and I mean it, thank you for coming in and making yourself a part of the community. You have immeasurable talent and energy and every sees it each and every day. To everyone at EA and Whisper, including our fearless leaders Jose and Kerry, thank you for your guidance through a wild and sometimes rocky year. It took some time to figure it out, but boy did we hit our stride and we were better because of it. To the friends along the way, thank you for making this year unforgettable. I’ve gotten to hang out with old friends like @Bobbyy_V and @BeastNamedJon and make incredible new friends I will cherish for life (yeah I’m looking at you @cxratops and @GoatGeezy ). You all make life worth living. It’s these relationships that are everything to me and I never take that for granted. As for what’s next, I wish I had an answer cause that would make it easy. I’ve been here 6 years and it’s been the greatest joy getting to be a voice in your ears for these games. I don’t know what the future holds, as much as people think otherwise. I hope there is an opportunity to keep doing this and supporting my family, but that is something that will be decided in the coming months. For now, thank you for listening, cheering, watching, and experiencing this season. It’s been one of my greatest honors ♥️

So we all know that being good in the NFL and being good in MUT are not the same thing. MUT players look for speed, height, thresholds etc. So as the unofficial, unrecognized, unpaid, and unaffiliated #CommissionerMizesko here’s my question to the MUT community, both competitive and not: Who is the best player (or your favorite player) in the NFL that has never gotten a MUT card you wanted to use? TB12 always get brought up, but for me it’s this guy ⬇️

Salary cap fans, for those who may have never seen the mode, give me some 10 cap demons. I’m not talking nice players, Im talking MUST HAVE PLAYERS. Who remembers this beast? ⬇️

Things that I believe are true 🧵 : 1. MUT cannot be eliminated from the MCS. The whole reason the MCS is funded by EA is it’s a marketing tool for Ultimate Team. There is no way MUT will be removed fully from the MCS while still being paid for by EA. 2. There is a desire to create consistency in the player base. This is why the Pro League was formed. Imagine watching the NFL, rooting for the Bills, and then the next 3 weeks the Bills aren’t playing. It’s hard to build storylines and rooting interest when the player base changes each week. Also, it saves money on the travel side because you can book everyone’s travel way in advance instead of having to wait until elims end a week before the live to book flights (this being an added benefit, not the reason for the change). 3. Clubs are probably never coming back. I know a lot of people loved it (I am one of those people) BUT it was a 3 month long, cost prohibitive tournament that only a third of NFL teams really bought into. NFL teams want fandom and people to buy their merch and tickets. Holding a tournament where players openly didn’t root for teams they were competing to represent because the bracket looked sweet wasn’t what these teams wanted to invest in. Also remember when nasty streak was the meta and then it got patched before all the clubs were played? 4. Madden, as it stands right now, does NOT build, patch, adjust, or tweak the game for the MCS or competitive players. Competitive players are playing a game with millions of other players and are only a small piece of the pie. Salary cap was an awesome mode for comp, but was rarely played outside of the MCS. Again, do I wish SC and DC were in the game? Yeah, but it’s not the reality we live in. 5. MUT is expensive. I don’t really have much to add here. Just a mathematical fact. 6. The MCS will be around as long as it makes fiscal sense for EA to run it. Prize pools were cut, yes. EA went from an in house production team to outsourcing it and utilizing their relationship with Full Sail. All of these cost cutting measures were used to keep the MCS around. Trust me, EA could have cut the program at any point if they wanted to. The fact that even during an ownership transition the MCS is still around shows there is still value for the MCS to EA. So, friends, as self appointed, unofficial, unaffiliated, and unpaid #CommisionerMizesko , what MCS changes would you like to see next year with the following constraints : - MUT has to be a part of the MCS - No new game modes are added - No more than 8 players at a live event - 6 live events max - MUT doesn’t have a significant cost reduction next year. Let’s say it stays the exact same as this year for this exercise - EA still runs the MCS, no third party takeover at the top I want to hear format ideas, tournament structures, anything to make the MCS better within these boundaries above. Love to hear your ideas in this thought exercise!
