VCss have long put enormous weight on founders + founding teams.
a great idea wasn’t enough.
you also had to bet on its creator’s pedigree, experience, and ability to hire, manage money, build an organization, and execute.
but as ai takes on more of that execution, i think the investment thesis starts to shift.
an idea’s potential becomes less dependent on its creator’s ability to run a company.
that opens the door to backing ideas more directly: the problems they solve, the people they serve, and what they could become.
more weight on what deserves to exist. less on who can build an organization around it.
i’m not saying “ideas > individuals.”
i’m saying ideas + products deserve more weight, and the bet on someone going full founder mode deserves a rethink as agents take on more of the work.

Superteam USA founders aren’t just building the future of Solana.
They’re taking the stage to lead it.
Group of grad school kids got in touch with me via @college_xyz.
They’re now working on something that could massively derisk DeFi on Solana.
I'll be doing important work from my iPhone Duo on the flight to Breakpoint.
You losers will be sleeping.

It is truly insane how hard many ecosystems have tried to replicate superteam but have failed for one reason alone. The intent is not genuine. Their heart simply isn't in the right place and it's all entirely built on top down hierarchical structures that makes attracting high agency high ownership people next to impossible and even if you do attract them they quickly leave
