frame update:
got my comfort kit
top strap is cool but the controller straps is an honest gamechanger, ive gone from hating the controllers to loving them, if you have ever used knuckles you will NEED them.
Played more alyx standalone, fiddled with settings, had way more fun.
day 1 rating of da frame:
Standalone VR: 4/10 (quite grim)
Standalone 2D: 3/10 (couldnt play skyrim comfortably)
PCVR Wireless (Linux) 0/10!!!!!!!
PCVR Wireless (Winblows) 8/10 (steamvr still kind ass and need some 3rd party tools and acc)

Ok quick review of what ive tried so far and in order:
Comfortable to wear i can wear my glasses but I definitely am going to get lens inserts but its not the most comfortable with them in.
Playspace setup is 1:1 with quest

it has internal fans, dont really notice them tbh, I am sure they cool the headset down (it gets quite hot) but I noticed them at the start and then forgot about them.

It was really disappointing there is basically no whimsy with this headset, no small introduction app like aperture test labs, no flagship game (alyx lk sucks on frame), set up was very minimal, no cool valve theming.
You can really tell we are in the boring commercial VR era.
