The Gutty Steve Young
The future Hall of Famer returns after three weeks due to a severe groin injury, reaggravates the injury and exits, then returns again to orchestrate what was at the time the 49ers' second largest comeback victory ever — 28-21 over Cincinnati at Candlestick.
Young hits Terrell Owens for the rookie's first NFL touchdown with just over 2:00 left, then limps in for the game-winning score a minute later.
