I fully understand what Lee Kuan Yew meant about AC, civilisation wouldn’t have been built if the UK was always like this, we’d still be in the bog

I don’t think you should mean and rude to canvassers even if you think their politics are very bad.

Got multiple offers for a PhD, now I just need to see if any of the funding applications are successful. Considering the way funding is, it's still very up in the air. Pessimistic but hopeful.

There’s discourse on the toilet walls at Leeds. I’m hoping for a 4th reply until the whole thing resembles a twitter reply chain.

If modal realism is true, I can have a loving relationship with a possible girlfriend. One of my favourite papers ‘cause I genuinely can’t tell if this is meant to be ad absurdum or whether he’s genuinely comforted by his possible girlfriend

Leaker is a way better term than whistleblower. Whistleblower sounds like a 1950’s euphemism for a gay man. Leaker sounds more cyberpunk, cool and slightly grimey. Also, a 1950s euphemism for a gay woman.

If I saw this when I was 14, I would’ve thought it was trying to warn me against goth girls and it would have had the complete opposite effect. I’m guessing we’re seeing 1950s style homophobia though, which is lame.

Is it better to have a bad cold over the weekend or during the week? I'm absolutely ruined right now.

People talk a lot about American cultural taking over the UK, but our culture has been far more impactful in one important way. Just like us, they now accuse everyone they don’t like of being a nonce #CoolBritannia

The perfect learning experience is when *sniff* the learner plugs in his essay into GPT and then *sniff* the teacher… my god…. The teacher! They *wafts shirt* plugs this into GPT marker. Now, our superego is appeased. Now we maybe talk and one hand moves to a pen… *sniff*
Much of HS/college now appears to be "ChatGPT writes a paper, professor plugs it into grading ChatGPT wrapper." The grade gets assigned and we all pretend we learned something.

The Age Verification system seems to have some flaws. Someone got through the system using a selfie they took in the video game Death Stranding.

It's amazing to me that there's been so little complaint about the Online Safety Act (UK). It's gonna come into full force on the 25th, maybe you'll anger then. I worry the framework set up by the OSA, which is already draconian, will have an incredibly corrosive mission creep

Got accepted by every uni I applied to do my MA. Top choice is between St Andrews and Leeds. Both known as places with good funding prospects for future study, both relevantly prestigious for my subject. I’m leaning Leeds, but any advice would be great.
